CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Notre Dame senior midfielder Eric Dobson has been tabbed the Atlantic Coast Conference’s 2024 Men’s Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year and heads up the All-ACC Academic Men’s Lacrosse Team, announced Wednesday by the league office.
The All-ACC Academic Team includes 28 student-athletes who earned mention on the USILA All-America Team this season, including 17 on the first, second and third teams. Fifteen of the 19 members of the 2024 All-ACC Team also were named to the All-ACC Academic Team.
Each of the ACC’s 2024 season award winners earned a spot on the All-ACC Academic Team: Notre Dame’s Liam Entenmann (Defensive Player of the Year and Goalie of the Year) and Pat Kavanagh (Offensive Player of the Year) and North Carolina’s Owen Duffy (Freshman of the Year). Kavanagh also earned lacrosse’s top honor this season, winning the Tewaaraton Trophy.
A native of Fleming Island, Florida, Dobson played a key role as Notre Dame won its second straight national championship this season. He was named a Second-Team All-American by the USILA and a Third-Team All-American by Inside Lacrosse, and he also earned a spot on the 2024 All-ACC Team for the third consecutive season.
Dobson scored 17 goals and added career-high 14 assists in 2024 for the Fighting Irish. A finance major, Dobson was named to the All-ACC Academic Team for the third straight year. He was named to the CSC Academic All-America Team in 2023 and has been named to the Notre Dame Dean’s List five times.
Dobson is the first Notre Dame student-athlete to earn ACC Men’s Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.
