CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke freshman guard/forward Cooper Flagg swept the weekly Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball honors for the second straight week on Monday, earning both Player and Rookie of the Week honors. This marks the third time this season in which he won both distinctions in the same week (November 25, January 6). He becomes the first player in league history to win both honors in consecutive weeks.
 
ACC men’s basketball weekly honors are nominated by the respective schools and determined by a vote of an 18-member media panel.
 
Flagg was named ACC Player of the Week for the third time, becoming the first freshman in conference history to earn Player of the Week honors three times in a season. He notched Rookie of the Week laurels for the sixth time in 10 weeks, including the third time in the last four weeks.
 
Flagg is the first player to be named ACC Player of the Week in consecutive weeks since North Carolina’s Armando Bacot on January 10 and 17, 2022.
 
In wins against Pitt and Notre Dame, Flagg averaged 30.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.0 blocked shot, while shooting 18-of-25 (72%) from the field, 5-of-8 (62.5%) from behind the arc, and 20-of-23 (87%) from the free-throw line.
 
Flagg broke the Duke and ACC freshman scoring records with 42 points against Notre Dame on Saturday, January 11, while adding seven assists, six rebounds and a steal in an 86-78 victory. He shot 11-of-14 from the field, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range, and connected on 16-of-17 free throws. On Tuesday, January 7, against Pitt, Flagg registered his sixth double-double of the season with 19 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two blocked shots and a steal during a 76-47 triumph.
