ACC Women's Basketball Recap - January 16

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) –  Boston College, Duke, Florida State, Louisville, North Carolina, NC State, Notre Dame, Stanford and Virginia posted conference victories on Thursday.

#3 Notre Dame 81, #17 Georgia Tech 66 | Box Score | Highlights
After the Yellow Jackets cut their deficit to just three points entering halftime, the Fighting Irish outscored the visitors 22-14 in the third quarter and never looked back for their fifth ranked win on the season. Sonia Citron and Maddy Westbeld led the way with 21 and 20 points, respectively, while Liatu King pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds, as No. 3 Notre Dame was without Hannah Hidalgo for the second straight game. Also without a starter in freshman Dani Carnegie, No. 17 Georgia Tech's Kara Dunn paced the Jackets with 21 points and three triples.



Florida State 82, Clemson 67 | Box Score | Highlights
Facing a 38-34 halftime deficit, Florida State responded and outscored Clemson 48-29 in the second half to get back into the win column after a two-game skid. Ta'Niya Latson and O'Mariah Gordon fueled the comeback with 11 second-half points apiece, as the Seminoles totaled 10 3-pointers in the final 20 minutes. Closing the game with 20 points for her league-leading 15th 20-point effort this season, Latson also posted 10 assists for her fourth double-double of the year. Clemson's Loyal McQueen led the team in scoring for the 11th time this season with 15 points, while Tessa Miller posted a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.



Stanford 74, Wake Forest 71 | Box Score | Highlights
Despite a late fourth-quarter rally by the Demon Deacons, Stanford held on for its first road ACC win in program history. Tess Heal (24 points) and Nunu Agara (23) combined to score 47 of the Cardinal's 74 points on the evening, as Heal knocked down a season-high six 3-pointers. Wake's Elise Williams tallied a season-high 19 points to pace the Deacs, while teammate Raegyn Conley followed with 18 points on six made triples. For the game, the teams combined for 22 made 3-pointers.



Virginia 73, Virginia Tech 65 | Box Score | Highlights
Latasha Lattimore scored 10 third-quarter points to help Virginia outscore its in-state rivals Virginia Tech 27-12 for the period and secure a 73-65 win in Blacksburg, Virginia. For the game, Lattimore recorded a season-high 24 points to go along with 15 rebounds to lead the Cavaliers to their first win inside Cassell Coliseum since the 2019-20 campaign. UVA sophomore Kymora Johnson added 16 points extending her streak of 37 straight games scoring in double figures. Four Hokies scored in double figures on the night, led by Rose Micheaux who narrowly missed a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.



#21 NC State 83, Pitt 67 | Box Score | Highlights
Led by Aziaha James' 22 points and Madison Hayes' first double-double of the season, No. 12 NC State claimed its ninth win in its last 10 games and moved to 5-1 in conference play with a victory over Pitt. Hayes, who tallied 13 points and 10 rebounds, was one of four Wolfpack players to finish in double figures, as Saniya Rivers notched 15 points and seven assists and Zoe Brooks added 14 points. Pitt's Khadija Faye posted a season-high 28 points on 12-of-22 (54.5 percent) shooting for her ninth game this season scoring 20 points or more.



Boston College 83, Miami 79 | Box Score | Highlights
Kaylah Ivey's triple with 25.3 seconds left helped lift Boston College to its first road ACC victory of the season at Miami. In addition to the key 3-pointer, Ivey handed out a career-high 16 assists on the night, the most assists in ACC game since Georgia Tech's Nina Barlin totaled 17 against Virginia on January 10, 2002. T'yana Todd led the Eagles in scoring with a career-high 29 points on eight 3-pointers, the most triples by an ACC player this season. Miami placed five players in double figures on the night, as Jasmyne Roberts led the Hurricanes with 16 points.



Louisville 72, Syracuse 62 | Box Score | Highlights
Nyla Harris (10 points, 11 rebounds) and Ja'Leah Williams (11 points, 10 rebounds) each posted double-doubles on the night, as Louisville earned its seventh straight win and improved to 6-1 in ACC play. In addition to the pair of double-doubles, freshman Tajianna Roberts led the Cardinals with 13 points, while Jayda Curry knocked down four of the team's five 3-pointers in the win. Syracuse's Sophie Burrows posted a season-high 17 points, matching Kyra Wood's 17 points off the bench. Wood also led the Orange on the glass with nine rebounds.



#16 Duke 72, #18 California 38 | Box Score | Highlights
Duke scored 32 points off of 31 California turnovers and cruised to a 72-38 victory inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. It marked the first time the Blue Devils have forced 30 or more turnovers in an ACC game since posting 30 turnovers against Clemson on January 24, 2013. On the offensive end, freshman Toby Fournier led all scorers with 23 points on 7-for-10 from the field, and added 11 rebounds for her first collegiate double-double. Cal, which entered the game averaging 9.6 3-pointers per game, connected on just two triples for the night, as Kayla Williams led the Golden Bears with nine points.



#14 North Carolina 64, SMU 33 | Box Score | Highlights
North Carolina's Lexi Donarski connected on five 3-pointers for a game-high 15 points, while Alyssa Ustby posted her eighth double-double of the season with 12 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Tar Heels to the road win at SMU. Ustby's 18 rebounds are the most by an ACC player in a conference game this season and matched her career high set during the 2022-23 season. SMU's Kaysia Woods recorded three 3-pointers and finished with 12 points, while Jessica Peterson led the Mustangs with 12 rebounds.
