CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Over the course of Friday, January 17, and Saturday, January 18, 17 of the 18 Atlantic Coast Conference’s indoor track & field programs will be competing. ACC teams will compete across nine states and three time zones this weekend for a full slate of collegiate track and field.
Virginia Tech will host the Virginia Tech Invitational, which will also welcome Duke, NC State, Virginia and Wake Forest to Blacksburg. The two-day competition is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday and 11 a.m. ET on Saturday.
Duke will also travel to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to compete in the Dick Taylor Challenge, hosted by North Carolina. The two-day event will feature the weight throw and high jump on Friday, beginning at 5 p.m. ET, while the remainder of the events will commence on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET.
Miami and SMU will each head west to Lubbock, Texas, to compete in the Corky Classic, hosted by Texas Tech. The Corky Classic will be streamed on ESPN+, beginning at 4 p.m. ET on Friday and noon ET on Saturday.
Georgia Tech will travel to Nashville, Tennessee, to participate in the two-day Vanderbilt Invitational, while Louisville will remain in the Derby City as the Cardinals will battle in the Bellarmine Open on Friday. Both days of the Vanderbilt Invitational will be streamed on SEC Network+ as the Yellow Jackets compete against the 38-team field.
Florida State will remain in the Sunshine State on Friday as the Seminoles head to Gainesville, Florida, to compete in the Jimmy Carnes Invitational, hosted by in-state rival Florida.
Both California and Stanford will head to the Pacific Northwest as each school is set to compete in Washington. The Golden Bears will kick their season off at the Spokane Indoor Challenge and Spokane Sports Showcase, while the Cardinal begin their season at the UW Indoor Preview, hosted by Washington.
Notre Dame will remain in the Hoosier State as they compete in the Hoosier Horsepower Classic in Indianapolis, Indiana, on Saturday. Like the Fighting Irish, Pitt, Syracuse and Wake Forest will remain in their home states for Saturday competitions. Pitt will compete in the Nittany Lion Challenge, hosted by Penn State, while Syracuse will travel to Ithaca, New York, to race in Upstate Challenge, hosted by Cornell. Wake Forest will remain in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, as the Demon Deacons compete in the Mondo College Invitational.
