Stanford’s Raynaud, Cal’s Wilkinson, Duke’s Flagg Earn ACC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Stanford senior center Maxime Raynaud was named Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, while California guard Jeremiah Wilkinson and Duke guard/forward Cooper Flagg shared Rookie of the Week honors for games played January 20-26.

ACC men’s basketball weekly honors are nominated by the respective schools and determined by a vote of an 18-member media panel.

This marks Raynaud’s third ACC weekly honor of the 2024-25 season (November 18, December 23). Flagg was named ACC Rookie of the Week for the eighth time in 12 weeks, including the fourth straight week and the fifth time in the last six weeks. Wilkinson claimed the rookie distinction for the second time this season (December 2).

Raynaud averaged 18.0 points and 13.0 rebounds in victories over Miami (88-51) and Florida State (78-71). The native of Paris, France, recorded his nation-leading 16th double-double on Wednesday, January 22, against Miami with 28 points and 12 rebounds and leads all major conference players by five double-doubles. He followed that up with eight points and 14 rebounds in the victory over Florida State on Saturday, January 25, as Stanford ran its win streak to three. Raynaud continues to lead the ACC in scoring (20.5) and rebounding (11.7), ranking 10th nationally in scoring and third in rebounding.

Wilkinson averaged 24.0 points per game in his first two career starts, leading Cal to a home sweep of Florida State and Miami. He scored a season-high 30 points in the Bears’ 98-94 overtime win against Miami, including 28 points in regulation, becoming one of only eight ACC players to score 30 points in an ACC game this season (joining Flagg as the only two freshmen). He also scored 18 points in the 77-68 win over FSU on Wednesday. The native of Powder Springs, Georgia, shot 61.9 percent (13-of-21) inside the 3-point line and was 13-of-14 shooting at the free throw line across the two wins. He committed just three turnovers in nearly 36 minutes per game as a primary ball handler.

Flagg amassed a game-high 24 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field and 7-of-9 from the foul line, while adding a team-best six assists along with seven rebounds on Saturday in a 63-56 road win at Wake Forest, handing the Demon Deacons their first home loss of the season. During a second half that saw the Blue Devils fall behind by six points with less than 10 minutes remaining, the native of Newport, Maine, scored 15 of the Blue Devils' 28 second-half points (54%).
