ACC Women's Basketball Recap - January 5

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – California, Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Louisville, NC State, Notre Dame and Virginia Tech picked up conference victories on Sunday.

#14 Duke 69, Pitt 31 | Box Score | Highlights
The Duke defense held Pitt to single digits in each of the first three quarters, while senior guard Reigan Richardson scored a team-high 13 points, including the 1,000th point of her career, as the Blue Devils rolled inside Cameron Indoor Stadium. Nine different Duke players found the scoring column, including sophomore Delaney Thomas who finished a perfect 5-for-5 from the field for 10 points. Pitt was led by Khadija Faye who tallied 17 of Pitt's 31 points, and added three blocks.



Virginia Tech 68, Miami 64 | Box Score | Highlights
Despite facing a 12-point deficit in the third quarter, the Hokies outscored Miami 24-13 in the fourth quarter to seal their first ACC win of the season. Sophomore Carys Baker posted a career-high 23 points, including seven 3-pointers, tying for the most by an ACC player this season. Headlined by Baker's eight points, Virginia Tech finished 10-for-11 (90.9 percent) from the field in the fourth quarter to help pull away. Three Hurricanes finished in double figures on the day, highlighted by Cameron Williams' 15 points and 10 rebounds.



#3 Notre Dame 76, #17 North Carolina 66 | Box Score | Highlights
Hannah Hidalgo (24 points) and Olivia Miles (19) combined for 43 points to pace Notre Dame to its fourth double-digit ranked victory this season. Miles knocked down a career-high five 3-pointers, matching Hidalgo's total, as the Fighting Irish finished with 13 triples on the day. Liatu King grabbed 15 rebounds, which matched her season high, and narrowly missed a double-double with eight points. North Carolina's Maria Gakdeng (16), Lexi Donarksi (13) and Alyssa Ustby (12) all scored in double figures, while Ustby notched her sixth double-double of the year with 11 rebounds.



#22 NC State 91, Boston College 52 | Box Score | Highlights
Six Wolfpack players finished the day with double-figure scoring, as NC State improved to 3-0 in league play.  Saniya Rivers (23 points, 11 rebounds) and Zoe Brooks (11 points, 11 rebounds) each finished with a double-double, as the Pack shot 50.8 percent (33-for-65) from the field for the contest. T'yana Todd led the Eagles with 20 points, her first 20-point performance since opening ACC play at Virginia on Dec. 8.



Florida State 85, Syracuse 73 | Box Score | Highlights
Junior Ta'Niya Latson posted a game-high 25 points, grabbed four rebounds, handed out seven assists and posted six steals to pace Florida State to its fifth straight victory. Teammate Makayla Timpson also shined with her team-leading eighth double-double of the season with 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, as seven of her boards came off the offensive end. After facing a first-half deficit, the Seminoles outscored Syracuse 53-38 in the second half to seal the win. The Orange saw four players with 10 points or more, headlined by Sophie Burrows with 14 points and 10 rebounds for her first collegiate double-double.



Clemson 65, Stanford 61 (OT) | Box Score | Highlights
Led by Loyal McQueen's season-high 26 points in 44 minutes, Clemson improved to 3-1 in ACC play with an overtime victory over Stanford. McQueen, who scored the final six points in overtime to seal the game, finished 7-for-13 from the field and 12-of-14 from the free throw line to go along with six assists. Nunu Agara and Elena Bosgana led Stanford with double-doubles, as Agara tallied 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Bosgana chipped in 15 points and posted 12 rebounds.



Louisville 81, Wake Forest 76 (OT) | Box Score | Highlights
After a late 3-pointer from Rylie Theuerkauf sent the game into overtime, Louisville responded by finishing a perfect 4-for-4 in overtime to help earn the road victory at Wake Forest. Five Cardinals finished in double figures, led by Nyla Harris' season-best 18 points on 8-for-10 from the field. Theuerkauf led the Demon Deacons with 17 points, headlined by five 3-pointers, and Malaya Cowles with 15 points.




#20 California 81, SMU 66 | Box Score | Highlights
After being held well-below its average with just four 3-pointers at Clemson last time out, California knocked down 10 treys on the day to pull away from SMU. With four Golden Bears ending the game in double figures, Marta Suarez finished a perfect 3-for-3 from distance and finished with a team-high 19 points. Nya Robertson led the Mustangs with 22 points for her eighth 20-point effort of the season.
