CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Pitt’s Olivia Babcock was named Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week while California’s Mikayla Hayden was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week. SMU’s Averi Carlson garnered ACC Setter of the Week honors while Virginia’s Reagan Ennist was named ACC Freshman of the Week for matches played October 13-19.
ACC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Olivia Babcock, Jr., Right Side Hitter, Pitt (Los Angeles, California)
- Totaled 70 kills, an average of 7.00 kills per set, in victories over Notre Dame and No. 4 Louisville.
- Registered 79.5 points, an average of 7.95 points per set.
- Set a program record of kills in a single match with 41 in the win against No. 4 Louisville on Sunday.
- Became the only player in the NCAA to record at least 40 kills in a single match this season.
- Earned her fourth ACC Offensive Player of the Week Award this season (August 25, September 29, October 13).
ACC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mikayla Hayden, Sr., Middle Blocker, California (Buford, Georgia)
- Totaled 16 total and three solo blocks, an average of 1.60 blocks per set, in a win over No. 14 Miami and a five-set loss to Florida State.
- Registered her second double-double of the season with 12 kills and 10 blocks in the reverse sweep of No. 14 Miami.
- Recorded 34.5 total points, an average of 3.45 points per set.
ACC SETTER OF THE WEEK
Averi Carlson, Sr., Setter, SMU (Lucas, Texas)
- Recorded 90 assists, an average of 11.25 assists per set, in victories over No. 4 Louisville and Notre Dame.
- Registered 24 digs, five kills and two blocks on the week.
- Totaled 54 assists and 16 digs against Louisville for her sixth double-double of the season.
- Claimed her fifth ACC Setter of the Week Award this season (September 1, September 15, September 22 and October 13).
ACC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Reagan Ennist, Fr., Outside Hitter, Virginia (Clifton Park, New York)
- Recorded 38 kills, an average of 4.75 kills per set, in a pair of wins over Virginia Tech.
- Registered 15 digs, tying a season-high eight digs in Wednesday’s win over the Hokies.
- Totaled six blocks on the week.
- Earned her second ACC Freshman of the Week Award this season (October 6).
