(theACC.com) - SMU’s Malaya Jones was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while Louisville’s Hannah Sherman was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week. Louisville’s Nayelis Cabello garnered ACC Setter of the Week honors, while Cardinals’ teammate Kalyssa Blackshear was named ACC Freshman of the Week for matches played October 20-26.
 
ACC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Malaya Jones, Gr., Opposite Hitter, SMU (El Dorado Hills, California)

• Totaled 32 kills, an average of 5.33 kills per set, finishing with just two errors across two matches.
• Hit .625 on the weekend, including a program record for hitting percentage on 20+ attempts in a single match with a .750 hitting percentage on Sunday.
• Her .750 hitting percentage on Sunday was the second highest in a match this season across the NCAA with a minimum of 20 attempts.
• Earned her second ACC Offensive Player of the Week Award this season (September 1).

ACC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hannah Sherman, Middle Blocker, Louisville (Silver Spring, Maryland)

• Totaled 17 total blocks, an average of 2.43 blocks per set, in wins over Duke and No. 21 North Carolina.
• Helped hold North Carolina to a .114 hitting percentage for the match.
• Recorded 16.5 points, an average of 2.36 points per set, in the two contests.

ACC SETTER OF THE WEEK
Nayelis Cabello, So., Setter, Louisville (Clermont, Florida)

• Recorded 68 assists, an average of 9.71 assists per set, in victories over Duke and No. 21 North Carolina.
• Registered 17 digs, 10 kills and seven total blocks on the week.
• Totaled 16.0 points and 2.29 points per set, 1.43 kills per set, 2.43 digs per set and 1.29 blocks per set on the week.
• Claimed her second ACC Setter of the Week Award this season (October 6).
