CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – SMU sophomore forward Stephan Soghomonian earned Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Virginia graduate goalkeeper Casper Mols picked up ACC Defensive Player of the Week accolades for matches played from September 29-October 5, as announced Tuesday.
Stephan Soghomonian, So., F, SMU (Santa Clarita, Calif.)
• Scored a hat trick in 44 minutes in the Mustangs' 4-0 win against California on Friday.
• Led SMU's attacking line with six shots and five on goal.
• Became the seventh ACC player to score a hat trick this season and the first SMU player since 2023.
• The win was SMU's highest-scoring ACC win in program history.
Casper Mols, Gr., GK, Virginia (Aabenraa, Denmark)
• Led the Cavaliers to a shutout win over No. 2 NC State, a team that averaged 2.9 goals per game going into the match.
• Made his return to the Cavalier starting lineup after missing two games due to injury.
• Led UVA to its third win over top-six teams and its fourth positive result against the top-eight this season.
• Made two saves on the night but made his impact felt on multiple dangerous chances in front of goal off long throw-ins from the Wolfpack.

• In the NCAA’s Tuesday RPI report, eight teams rank among the top 30, led by No. 2 Virginia and No. 7 Stanford in the top 10.
• ACC teams have combined for a 61-15-16 record in non-conference play (.750 win percentage, best of any league).
