(theACC.com) – Six games highlight a packed Saturday of ACC Football, featuring five conference showdowns and the game of the day as No. 9 Notre Dame visits No. 22 Pitt at Noon ET on ABC — immediately following ESPN’s College GameDay, broadcasting live from Pittsburgh from 9 a.m. to Noon ET. Four of the five ACC teams ranked in the latest College Football Playoff rankings will be in action, with several programs still in the hunt for a spot in the ACC Championship Game. Across the league, contenders look to strengthen their postseason resumes while others aim to finish strong as the regular season winds down. #9 Notre Dame at #22 Pitt | Noon ET Series: Notre Dame leads series, 51-21-1 Last meeting: Notre Dame, 58-7 (2023) TV: ABC SiriusXM Radio: SiriusXM 85 SiriusXM App: SiriusXM 85 Notre Dame holds a 50-21-2 all-time advantage over Pitt and enters the matchup on a four-game winning streak, with the Panthers last defeating the Irish in 2013. This will be the 10th meeting between the teams as ranked opponents, with Notre Dame leading 6-3 in those contests. The rivalry has been close in recent years, as 10 of the last 14 games were decided by single digits. Pitt faces one of the toughest remaining schedules in college football, finishing with No. 9 Notre Dame, No. 16 Georgia Tech and No. 15 Miami — all ranked in the CFP top 20. Since switching to true freshman quarterback Mason Heintschel in Week 6, the Panthers have won five straight games while averaging 40 points per game. Heintschel ranks fourth nationally in both passing yards and touchdowns since Week 6, and Pitt is one of just 10 FBS teams with six or more wins by at least 15 points. Notre Dame counters with a powerful rushing duo in Jeremiyah Love and Jadarian Price, as the Fighting Irish are one of only three programs with two players owning nine or more rushing touchdowns. Defensively, the Irish have held eight opponents under 250 yards this season, including Navy last week. ESPN’s College GameDay and ACC Network’s ACC Huddle will both broadcast live from Pittsburgh ahead of the showdown. NC State at #15 Miami | 3:30 p.m. ET Series: Miami leads series, 11-6-1 Last meeting: NC State, 20-6 (2023) TV: ESPN SiriusXM Radio: SiriusXM 145 / SiriusXM 371 SiriusXM App: SiriusXM 145 / SiriusXM 371 Miami and NC State will meet for the 19th time, with the Hurricanes holding an 11-6-1 advantage in the all-time series. The recent matchups have been tightly contested — the last six meetings have been decided by an average of just 7.4 points, with three of those decided by three points or fewer. The Wolfpack enter this game looking for their sixth win to secure bowl eligibility for the sixth straight season. NC State has faced a tough stretch of competition, with this being its third ranked opponent in the last four games. The Wolfpack are coming off a 48-36 upset of then-No. 8 Georgia Tech, a game in which their offense exploded for 583 total yards. On the season, NC State is averaging 438.6 yards per game. Miami will close its home schedule on Saturday looking to build on a dominant 38-10 win over Syracuse. The Hurricanes’ defense impressed in that victory, holding the Orange to 285 total yards while forcing three turnovers and recording seven sacks and 11 tackles-for-loss. Offensively, Miami has been consistent all year, owning a +14.9 average scoring margin with five wins by more than two touchdowns. #19 Virginia at Duke | 3:30 p.m. ET Series: Virginia leads series, 41-34-0 Last meeting: Virginia, 30-27 (2023) TV: ESPN2 SiriusXM Radio: SiriusXM 123 / SiriusXM 132 / SiriusXM 194 / SiriusXM 201 SiriusXM App: SiriusXM 956 / SiriusXM 963 Virginia and Duke enter Saturday’s matchup with just one conference loss apiece, each aiming to stay in contention for a spot in the ACC Championship Game. The Cavaliers lead the all-time series 41-34 and have dominated recent meetings, winning eight of the last nine, including a 30-27 victory in 2023. Virginia looks to bounce back from a 16-9 home loss to Wake Forest, despite a strong defensive effort that held the Demon Deacons to just 203 total yards and only 64 through the air. The Cavaliers have been solid on the road this season with a 3-1 record, marking their first back-to-back years with at least three road wins since 1998-99. Duke is also looking to rebound after a narrow 37-34 road loss at UConn. The Blue Devils are seeking their first win over a ranked opponent since opening the 2023 season with a 28-7 victory over No. 9 Clemson — and each of their last three wins over top-25 teams have come at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium. Led by quarterback Darian Mensah, Duke boasts one of the nation’s most explosive passing attacks, leading the ACC and ranking fourth nationally at 312.9 yards per game, while sitting 20th in total offense at 452.4 yards per contest. #16 Georgia Tech at Boston College | 3:30 p.m. ET Series: Georgia Tech leads series, 7-5-0 Last meeting: Boston College, 38-23 (2023) TV: ACC Network SiriusXM Radio: SiriusXM 81 / SiriusXM 137 / SiriusXM 193 SiriusXM App: SiriusXM 81 / SiriusXM 955 Georgia Tech enters this weekend’s matchup with a 7-5 advantage in the all-time series against Boston College, though the Eagles have had the upper hand recently, winning three straight — each by at least 11 points. Georgia Tech has been dominant throughout the season, earning four wins by 15 or more points and standing as one of just 14 Power 4 teams with eight or more victories. The Yellow Jackets are led by Heisman Trophy candidate Haynes King, a dynamic dual-threat quarterback who ranks third nationally in scoring (10.5 points per game) and total offense (330.3 yards per game), while is leading all quarterbacks with 14 rushing touchdowns. Boston College counters with one of the nation’s most productive passing offenses, ranking 26th nationally at 270.4 yards per game — good for sixth in the ACC, often dubbed the “Conference of Quarterbacks.” The Eagles’ passing attack is fueled by standout receiver Lewis Bond, who leads the ACC and ranks fifth nationally with 7.3 receptions per game. Bond recently reached 200 career catches, becoming just the 30th ACC player since 1956 to achieve that milestone. Boston College also brings balance on offense behind running back Turbo Richard, one of only nine ACC players with at least 500 rushing yards and seven total touchdowns this year. North Carolina at Wake Forest | 4:30 p.m. ET Series: North Carolina leads series, 73-36-2 Last meeting: North Carolina, 31-24 (2024) TV: The CW SiriusXM Radio: SiriusXM 121 / SiriusXM 202 / SiriusXM 383 SiriusXM App: SiriusXM 964 / SiriusXM 973 North Carolina enters Saturday’s matchup against Wake Forest holding a commanding 73-36-2 lead in the all-time series and riding a four-game winning streak over the Demon Deacons. The Tar Heels have also won two straight overall, both in ACC play, and have leaned on a resurgent defense that has not allowed more than 17 points in any of the last three games. UNC’s defense has been especially dominant against the run, holding Stanford to just 36 rushing yards last week and limiting opponents to under 100 yards on the ground six times this season. The Tar Heels also rank second in the ACC and 11th nationally with 3.0 sacks per game. Wake Forest enters the contest with momentum of its own after upsetting then-No. 12 Virginia on the road — its first win over a ranked opponent since 2022. The Demon Deacons have been fueled by a strong defense, ranking second in the ACC in both scoring defense (20.3 points per game) and passing defense (188.2 yards per game), setting the stage for a defensive battle in Winston-Salem on Saturday night. Virginia Tech at Florida State | 7:30 p.m. ET Series: Florida State leads series, 24-13-1 Last meeting: Florida State, 39-17 (2023) TV: ACC Network SiriusXM Radio: SiriusXM 137 / SiriusXM 193 / SiriusXM 371 SiriusXM App: SiriusXM 371 / SiriusXM 955 Virginia Tech travels to Tallahassee to face Florida State for the first time since 2023 and just the third time since 2018. Since meeting in the 2005 ACC Championship Game, the teams have alternated wins in their last seven matchups, with Florida State taking the most recent contest 39-17 in 2023. The Hokies will be playing only their third true road game of the season, having earned a win at NC State and a loss at Georgia Tech earlier in the year. Coming off their second open week of the season, Virginia Tech looks to rebound from a 28-16 loss to then-No. 16 Louisville, a game in which they were held scoreless in the second half. Running back Marcellous Hawkins continues to power the Hokies’ offense with a team-best 576 rushing yards. For Florida State, Saturday marks the final home game of the season, as the Seminoles enter with a 4-2 record at Doak Campbell Stadium. FSU will look to bounce back after a 24-10 loss at Clemson — its lowest offensive output of the season. Quarterback Tommy Castellanos has been a bright spot for the Seminoles, throwing for 225 or more yards in seven of nine games and leading the nation with an average of 15.76 yards per completion.
