ACC Announces Volleyball Players of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Miami’s Flormarie Heredia Colon was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while Louisville’s Hannah Sherman was named the ACC Defensive Player of the Week. Louisville’s Nayelis Cabello was named the ACC Setter of the Week, while Virginia’s Reagan Ennist was named ACC Freshman of the Week for matches played November 17-23.
 
ACC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Flormarie Heredia Colon, Sr., Outside Hitter, Miami (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic)
  • Totaled 43 kills, an average of 7.17 kills per set, in wins over Duke and No. 15 North Carolina.
  • Registered 46.5 points, an average of 7.75 points per set.
  • Leads the NCAA in total points (750.5), points per set (7.01), total kills (667) and kills per set (6.23).
  • Earned her seventh ACC Offensive Player of the Week Award this season, the most ACC Offensive Player of the Week awards won in a single season.
                
ACC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Hannah Sherman, R-Jr., Middle Blocker, Louisville (Silver Spring, Maryland)
  • Recorded 15 total blocks, an average of 2.14 blocks per set, in wins against Georgia Tech and Clemson.
  • Set the program record for total blocks in a match with 14 against Georgia Tech.
 
ACC SETTER OF THE WEEK
Nayelis Cabello, So., Setter, Louisville (Clermont, Florida)
  • Recorded 82 assists, an average of 11.71 assists per set, in victories over Georgia Tech and Clemson.
  • Registered 14 digs, an average of 2.00 digs per set.
  • Totaled nine blocks and three kills at the net.
  • Earned her fourth ACC Setter of the Week Award of the season.
     
ACC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Reagan Ennist, Fr., Outside Hitter, Virginia (Clifton Park, New York)
  • Recorded 46 kills, an average of 5.11 kills per set, in a split with NC State.
  • Tied for the team lead with four service aces on the week.
  • Added six total blocks and registered 53.5 total points (5.94 points per set).
  • Earned her third ACC Freshman of the Week Award of the season.
