Miami leads the ACC at No. 12 after improving to 9-2. The Hurricanes have moved up six spots since the first set of rankings on November 4, the largest climb of any team in the CFP rankings this year. Virginia (No. 18) and Georgia Tech (No. 23) both hold top-25 positions at 9-2, giving the league three teams with nine wins inside the rankings. SMU debuts at No. 21, entering the CFP rankings for the first time this season as an ACC member after making the College Football Playoff last season. Pitt also enters at No. 22, giving the conference back-to-back new entrants and bringing the ACC to five total ranked teams. The ACC is tied for second among all conferences with five ranked teams in this week’s CFP rankings (Nov. 25). The same five teams were also ranked in both the AP Top 25 Poll and the AFCA Coaches Poll this week. ACC is the Deepest Power 4 Conference The ACC has proven it is the deepest Power 4 conference this season: 6 teams at 2 losses or fewer in conference play, the second-most among all FBS conferences. 7 conference games have gone into overtime, the most by any conference since 2000. Eleven ACC Teams Already Set to Go Bowling The ACC already has 11 teams eligible for postseason play with at least six wins and the chance to make it 12 with a Florida State win at Florida on Saturday, November 29. Georgia Tech was the first to secure a bowl berth, defeating Virginia Tech 35-20 on October 11 (Week 7). Virginia followed, earning eligibility with a 22-20 win over Washington State on October 18 (Week 8). In Week 9 (Oct. 25), Pitt (53-34 vs. NC State), Miami (42-7 vs. Stanford), and Louisville (38-24 vs. Boston College) all reached six wins. Week 10 (Nov. 1) saw SMU become the sixth team eligible after an overtime win over then-No. 10 Miami, 26-20.
