CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke freshman forward Cameron Boozer earned Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week honors for games played from November 24-30, as announced Monday. He was tabbed ACC Rookie of the Week for the third consecutive week and claimed Player of the Week honors for the second time.
ACC men’s basketball weekly honors are nominated by the respective schools and determined by a vote of an 18-member media panel.
Cameron Boozer, Fr., F, Duke (Miami, Florida)
• Amassed 35 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals in the 80-71 victory over No. 22 Arkansas on Thanksgiving Day in Chicago.
• Shot 13-of-18 from the field and 2-of-4 from three-point range.
• After not scoring for the first nine minutes of the game, Boozer scored 15 points in the last 10:06 of the first half, then added 20 points after intermission to lead the Blue Devils to the top-25 win.
• Became the first Duke freshman and just the third Blue Devil since 1976 to score 35 points or more twice in a season.
