CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Miami offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa has been voted the winner of the 2025 Jacobs Blocking Trophy, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Monday.
Mauigoa is the first Miami Hurricane to receive the ACC Jacobs Blocking Trophy.
The Jacobs Blocking Trophy has been awarded annually since 1953 to the player selected most outstanding blocker in the ACC by a poll of the league’s head coaches and defensive coordinators. The trophy is given in memory of William P. Jacobs, who served as president of Presbyterian College from 1935 to 1945.
Mauigoa, a 6-6, 335-pound junior from Ili’ili, American Samoa, has played and started in every game for the Hurricanes at right tackle for each of the last three years, earning All-ACC recognition in both 2023 and 2024, and Freshman All-America honors in 2023.
Mauigoa has been one of Miami’s highest-graded offensive linemen, starting all 38 games at right tackle since arriving in 2023. His 85.9 overall grade from Pro Football Focus ranks sixth among all offensive tackles nationally, while his 88.8 pass-blocking grade is the third best in college football.
A projected first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, Mauigoa anchors an offensive line that ranks eighth nationally in sacks allowed (0.92) and sixth in tackles-for-loss allowed (3.50). He was also named to the Joe Moore Award midseason honor roll recognizing the nation’s top offensive line units.
He was also named both an ACC Offensive Lineman and Outland Trophy National Player of the Week this season and was on several preseason watch lists, including the Outland Trophy and the Wuerffel Trophy.
