ACC Announces Volleyball Players of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Notre Dame’s Morgan Gaerte was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while Miami’s Naylani Feliciano and Pitt’s Abbey Emch shared ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors. SMU’s Averi Carlson was named the ACC Setter of the Week, while SMU’s Kennedi Rogers was named ACC Freshman of the Week for matches played November 24-29.
 
ACC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Morgan Gaerte, So., Outside Hitter, Notre Dame (Angola, Indiana)
  • Totaled 56 kills, an average of 7.00 kills per set, in wins over Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
  • Registered 31 kills on a .403 hitting percentage against Wake Forest.
  • Recorded 59.5 total points, averaging 7.44 points per set.
  • Ended the season with five-straight matches of 20 or more kills, breaking her own program record for most consecutive matches with 20+ kills.            
ACC CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Naylani Feliciano, Sr., Libero, Miami (Plano, Texas)
  • Recorded 39 digs, an average of 4.88 digs per set, in wins against NC State and No. 19 North Carolina.
  • Totaled a career-high 30 digs in the reverse sweep of North Carolina, marking the fifth-most digs in a match in program history.
ACC CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Abbey Emch, Fr., Middle Blocker, Pitt (New Waterford, Ohio)
  • Recorded 14 total blocks, an average of 2.33 blocks per set, in wins against No. 7 Louisville and Georgia Tech to help the Panthers clinch a share of the 2025 ACC Volleyball Conference title.
  • Totaled a career-high 10 blocks in the win against Georgia Tech, helping hold the Yellow Jackets to a .051 hitting percentage for the match.
ACC SETTER OF THE WEEK
Averi Carlson, Sr., Setter, SMU (Lucas, Texas)
  • Recorded 117 assists, an average of 13.00 assists per set, in victories over Florida State and NC State.
  • Registered 19 digs, an average of 2.11 digs per set.
  • Totaled a career-high 62 assists in the win over NC State.
  • Logged her 10th double-double of the season with 55 assists and 11 digs against Florida State.
  • Earned her seventh ACC Setter of the Week Award of the season.
ACC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Kennedi Rogers, Fr., Outside Hitter, SMU (Missouri City, Texas)
  • Recorded 40 kills, an average of 4.44 kills per set, in wins over Florida State and NC State.
  • Totaled a career-high performance with 19 kills, a .381 hitting percentage and four blocks against Florida State.
  • Logged her second double-double of the season with 21 kills and 10 digs against NC State.
