2025 NCAA Championship Bracket
NC State Downs Saint Louis, Advances to 2025 NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship Game
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – NC State will play in its first-ever NCAA Men’s Soccer Championship Game following a 2-1 triumph over Saint Louis on Friday in the semifinals of the 2025 NCAA Men’s College Cup in front of a sold-out crowd of 10,945 at First Horizon Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina.
In just its second-ever NCAA Men’s College Cup and first since 1990, NC State will play Washington in the title game on Monday, December 15, at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
After piling up a decisive possession advantage and controlling the run of play, NC State broke through midway through the second half, scoring two goals in a span of just three minutes, 28 seconds. Following a corner kick, Donavan Phillip headed home the opening goal just inside the far post. The Wolfpack doubled the leader shortly after when Riley Moloney’s cross found the head of a charging Taig Healy, who sent it into the right corner of the goal.
After a foul deep in the box in the 81st minute, Saint Louis was awarded a penalty kick, which Quinten Blair buried to cut the Wolfpack lead to 2-1.
An ACC team has won the men’s national soccer championship 20 times – most of any conference – including three of the last four seasons with Clemson in 2021 and 2023 and Syracuse in 2022.
At least one ACC squad has now reached the Men’s College Cup in 23 of the last 25 seasons, and NC State is the 12th different league program to reach the sport’s highest stage in that span.
