CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Football Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year, while Miami defensive end Rueben Bain Jr. was tabbed the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, it was announced on Wednesday, December 3.
The awards were selected by an 82-member voting panel featuring 65 media voters and the conference’s 17 head coaches.

- First-Team All-ACC quarterback.
- Leads the ACC and ranks seventh overall, third among quarterbacks, nationally in rushing touchdowns (15).
- Leads the ACC and ranks third nationally in total offense (329.0 yards per game).
- Second in the ACC and sixth nationally in completion percentage (71.7).
- Second in the ACC and first among all quarterbacks in rushing yards per game (83.8).
- Third in the ACC and first among all quarterbacks in rushing yards (922).
- Third in the ACC in passing efficiency (151.4).
- Third in the ACC in yards per pass attempt (8.40).
- Third in the ACC in points responsible for per game (14.9) and fourth in points responsible for overall (164).
- Fifth in the ACC in both scoring (8.2) and total points scored (117) overall, but first among non-placekickers.
- Scored a rushing touchdown in nine of the 11 games he played, including multiple rushing scores in five of those contests.
- Recorded five 100-yard rushing games on the season.
- Threw for over 300 passing yards in three consecutive games versus Syracuse, NC State and Boston College.
- Totaled over 300 yards of total offense in seven games on the season, including a program-record 511 total yards of offense at NC State.
- Leads a Georgia Tech offense that ranks 12th nationally in total offense (466.3 yards per game), 19th in rushing offense (203.0 ypg) and fifth in red-zone offense (93.9%).

- First Miami Hurricane player to win ACC Defensive Player of the Year
- First-Team All-ACC defensive end.
- Started all 12 games along the defensive line for the Hurricanes.
- Registered 37 tackles, including 19 solo stops, on the season.
- Added 7.5 tackles-for-loss and 4.5 sacks from his defensive end spot.
- Has one fumble recovery, one interception and one pass breakup.
- Highest graded defensive edge in all of FBS this season by PFF at 92.9 overall.
- One of only 10 players in the nation credited with 50 or more quarterback pressures this season, which ranks fifth nationally.
- Leader on the Miami defense that leads the ACC and ranks in the top 15 nationally in total defense (277.8 ypg), rushing defense (86.8 ypg), scoring defense (13.8 ppg) and sacks (2.83).
