  • Duke won its first ACC Football Championship Game since its inception in 2005. It marks the Blue Devils’ eighth ACC title and first since 1989 (1953, 1954, 1955, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1989).
  • Duke is the first school to win the ACC football and men’s basketball championships in the same calendar year since Florida State in 2012.
  • The game-time temperature of 39 degrees was the coldest in ACCFCG history. The previous low was 41 degrees in 2015.
  • This was the first overtime game in ACC Football Championship Game history.
  • The 2025 ACCFCG featured the three longest drives by time in ACCFCG history:
    1 – Duke, 9:38 in first quarter
    2 – Duke, 8:02 in second quarter
    3 – Virginia, 7:41 in third quarter

Virginia Notes
  • Virginia trailed at the end of the first quarter for the first time this season.
  • UVA’s third-quarter drive of 17 plays, 68 yards, 7:41 TOP was its longest in plays this season. The 17 plays were Virginia's most on any drive since an 18-play drive vs. Louisville on October 12, 2024.
  • Virginia’s 23 plays in the first half were the second-fewest in any ACCFCG half (Clemson, 22, first half in 2009 vs Georgia Tech).
  • UVA’s 96-yard drive in the fourth quarter was the third-longest in ACCFCG history. The longest were 97-yard drives in 2014 (Georgia Tech) and 2015 (Clemson).
  • Virginia is the fifth team in FBS history to play four overtime games in a single season, joining San Diego State (2013), Louisiana-Monroe (2012), Buffalo (2008) and Northwestern (2004).

  • Duke’s first-quarter drive of 9 minutes, 38 seconds is the longest by time in ACC Football Championship Game history (16 plays, 75 yards, 9:38 TOP - touchdown). The previous was 7 minutes, 40 seconds by Georgia Tech vs. Clemson in 2009 (12 plays, 23 yards, 7:40 TOP – field goal).
  • By time (9:38), it was the sixth-longest opening drive by an FBS team this season.
  • Duke’s second-quarter drive 8 minutes, 2 seconds is the second-longest in ACCFCG history (13 plays, 75 yards – touchdown).
  • With 91 receiving yards tonight, Cooper Barkate notched the 10th season in Duke history of 1000+ receiving yards. Barkate is one of only 7 ACC receivers to top 1000 yards in the last 3 seasons.
  • With 97 rushing yards today, Nate Sheppard now has 962 for the season, passing USC's King Miller for the third most rushing yards by any FBS freshman this season.
  • Duke has converted at least three fourth downs in three consecutive games (including today). They are the fourth ACC team over the last 30 seasons to have three straight such games.
  • ACC teams with the most consecutive games with 3+ 4th downs converted --- since 1996:
