CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke graduate midfielder Maggie Graham has been named the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year and headlines the Women’s Soccer All-ACC Academic Team, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Graham closed the 2024 season with 14 goals and 13 assists for 33 points, the sixth-highest mark in the ACC. For her efforts, the Atlanta, Georgia, native was named the 2024 ACC Midfielder of the Year and was named to the All-ACC First Team. During the postseason, Graham scored four goals in the NCAA Tournament and helped lead Duke to the Women’s College Cup for the first time since 2017. Following the trip to the national semifinals, Graham was named one of the three finalists for the MAC Hermann Trophy and the Honda Award. She also signed her first professional contact with the NWSL’s Houston Dash on January 21.

The midfielder is a three-time honoree of the All-ACC Academic Team and was also a College Sports Communicators Academic All-American in 2024.

A conference-record 249 student-athletes were awarded on this year’s women’s soccer All-ACC Academic Team. All 17 ACC women’s soccer programs are represented on the All-ACC Academic Team. ACC newcomer Stanford led the way with 21 honorees, while Clemson and Virginia followed with 17 apiece.

A pair of student-athletes were named to the All-ACC Academic Team for the fifth time, as Clemson’s Megan Bornkamp and Virginia’s Samar Guidry became the first-ever women’s soccer student-athletes to earn the honor five times. Graham, Boston College’s Ella Richards and NC State’s Annika Wohner each earned the All-ACC Academic laurels for the fourth time.

A total of 24 student-athletes, not including the nine All-Freshmen honorees, also earned All-ACC honors in the fall, headlined by all five of the yearly award winners: Graham, California’s Karlie Lema (Offensive Player of the Year), Duke’s Cameron Roller (Defensive Player of the Year), Duke’s Leah Freeman (Goalkeeper of the Year) and Notre Dame’s Izzy Engle (Freshman of the Year).

Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.
