Stanford’s Case, Clemson’s Lamparter Earn ACC, National Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Stanford junior attack Jordyn Case earned Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week honors, and Clemson senior goalkeeper Emily Lamparter was tabbed ACC Defensive Player of the Week for games played from February 17-23.

They also were honored by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) on Tuesday, as Case was named IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Week, and Lamparter claimed IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Case was dominant for the No. 14 Cardinal in its 13-7 road win over No. 7 Virginia on Saturday, February 22, scoring four goals and dishing out an assist while grabbing seven of Stanford’s 14 draw controls on the afternoon. It marked her first hat trick of the season. The native of Charlotte, North Carolina, was 2-for-3 on free-position attempts. Her third-quarter goal that secured the hat trick kickstarted a 7-0 run for the Cardinal which allowed Stanford to claim its first-ever ACC win, its first program win over UVA and its highest ranked win since 2016.

Lamparter recorded 13 saves in the No. 19 Tigers’ 12-11 road win against No. 11 Notre Dame on Saturday, marking Clemson’s first-ever victory over the Fighting Irish and tied for the highest ranked win in program history. Nine of her saves came in the second half in the tight battle. The native of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, saved four of Notre Dame's five free-position shots. She also scooped up a ground ball.

Eight ACC women’s lacrosse teams are ranked in the latest IWLCA poll, including four in the top 10, headlined by Boston College at No. 1 and North Carolina at No. 2 and followed by Syracuse (No. 6), Stanford (No. 8), Virginia (No. 11), Clemson (No. 14), Notre Dame (No. 17) and Duke (No. 21). The ACC has the most teams in the poll among all conferences.

Conference play continues this week, beginning Thursday as Pitt travels to Stanford at 3 p.m. ET. There are two battles of ranked teams this weekend, with Notre Dame at Duke on Friday and Clemson at Syracuse on Saturday.
