CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Week 5 of the Atlantic Coast Conference women’s tennis spring season consists of a full state with 15 of the 17 ACC teams in action from Friday, February 7, through Wednesday, February 12, highlighted by three teams set to compete at the 2025 ITA Women’s National Team Indoor Championships in Evanston, Illinois.
No. 8 North Carolina, No. 4 Stanford and No. 5 Virginia will compete in the Northwestern field of the ITA Women’s National Team Indoor Championships beginning on Friday, February 7. Virginia will take on No. 13 Tennessee at 10 a.m. ET, North Carolina will face off with No. 15 Pepperdine at 1 p.m. ET and Stanford will battle No. 10 Auburn at 4:30 p.m. ET.
The other 12 ACC teams will combine to host 16 home matches, highlighted by Houston at SMU (1 p.m. ET) and No. 17 Ohio State at Notre Dame (4 p.m. ET) on Friday. Georgia Tech will host No. 22 South Carolina (noon ET) in Atlanta on Saturday, February 8, while on Sunday, February 9, Boston College will host Syracuse (10 a.m. ET) in ACC play.
Also on Sunday, Florida State and Notre Dame will each host a doubleheader, while Wake Forest will welcome James Madison (noon ET) to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for a non-conference meeting.
Tuesday, February 11, will see a pair of ACC versus SEC matchups, as Clemson will host South Carolina (4 p.m. ET) and Georgia Tech will travel to Alabama (4 p.m. ET).
Miami will wrap up the full week of play with a home match versus Kennesaw State on Wednesday, February 12, at noon ET.
The ACC has eight student-athletes ranked in the first spring ITA National Singles Rankings and lead the way in the ITA National Doubles Rankings with Virginia’s duo of Elaine Chervinsky and Melodie Collard ranked No. 1 and NC State’s tandem of Maddy Zampardo and Gabriella Broadfoot following at No. 2 overall.

Noting ACC Women’s Tennis
- In the most recent ITA Division I Women’s Top 25 Coaches Poll announced on January 29, the ACC had six teams in the top 25, including four teams in the top 10. Newcomer Stanford was ranked No. 4, Virginia moved up to No. 5, North Carolina was ranked No. 8 and Duke came in at No. 9. California and NC State came in at No. 18 and 19, respectively.
- In the first ITA National Singles Rankings (February 5) of the spring season, the ACC had eight players ranked in the top 25 – Valerie Glozman of Stanford (No. 8), Theadora Rabman of North Carolina (No. 10), Irina Balus of Duke (No. 11), Connie Ma of Stanford (No. 18), Elaine Chervinsky of Virginia (No. 19), Carson Tanguilig of North Carolina (No. 20), Eleana Yu of Duke (No. 23) and Reese Brantmeier of North Carolina (No. 24).
- In the first ITA National Doubles Rankings of the spring season (February 5), the ACC had the top two teams in the 2024-25 NCAA Women’s Doubles Champions Elanie Chervinsky and Melodie Collard of Virginia at No. 1 and Maddy Zampardo and Gabriella Broadfoot of NC State at No. 2. The two teams were joined in the top 26 by five other pairs in Susanna Maltby and Carson Tanguilig of North Carolina (No. 5), Elizabeth Coleman and Irina Balus of Duke (No. 11), Mao Mushika and Katja Wiersholm of Cal (No. 13), Martina Genis Salas and Annabelle Xu of Virginia (No. 23) and Tatum Evans and Theadora Rabman of North Carolina (No. 26).
- The ACC will be looking to build on the 2024 fall season, which saw Virginia’s senior duo of Elaine Chervinsky and Melodie Collard win the 2024-25 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Doubles Championship. This was the first year that the NCAA held the individual championships in the fall.
- Over the fall slate, ACC women’s tennis players earned 15 ITA All-American honors in either singles or doubles at the 2024 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. The complete list of All-American student-athletes will be announced at the end of the 2024-25 season when all criteria have been exhausted.
- North Carolina and Syracuse shared the Week 4 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis weekly awards, it was announced on Tuesday, February 4, as the Tar Heels’ Reese Brantmeier was named the ACC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week and joined her doubles partner Alanis Hamilton in being tabbed the Doubles Team of the Week. Syracuse’s Monika Wojcik was named the Freshman of the Week for matches played January 27-February 2.
- The 2025 ACC Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships will be held on April 15-20 at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina.
