ACC Women's Basketball Recap - February 6

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) –  Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Notre Dame, Pitt and Syracuse earned conference victories on Thursday.

Syracuse 93, Virginia Tech 87 | Box Score | Highlights
Finishing 38-for-63 (60.3 percent) from the field, Syracuse placed five players in double figures and jumped back into the win column with a victory at Virginia Tech for the program's 800th win. Knocking down a season-high 12 3-pointers, the Orange was led by Sophie Burrows who notched her second straight 20-point performance with a season-high 28 points on eight triples. Following Burrows was Kyra Wood with 18 points, Georgia Woolley with 14 points, Dominique Camp with 12 points and Izabel Varejao with 10 points. Camp also matched a season-high with 10 assists for her first double-double of the season. The Hokies, who also shot above 50 percent (51.4), saw three 20-point efforts on the night, as Carleigh Wenzel and Carys Baker tallied 24 points apiece, while Lani White followed with 20. Wenzel also totaled 10 assists for her first double-double since January 9.



Pitt 79, Boston College 66 | Box Score | Highlights
With double-doubles from Khadija Faye (19 points and 10 rebounds) and MaKayla Elmore (12 points and 13 rebounds), Pitt snapped its five-game losing skid with a home victory over Boston College. Combining for just four bench points, the Panther starters scored 75 of the team's 79 points, as all five starters hit double figures. Faye's double-double gave her 10 for the season, as she became just the third player in the ACC this year with 10 or more double-doubles. The Eagles were led by Nene Ndiaye who scored in double figures for the first time this season with 16 points.



#22 Florida State 101, Virginia 68 | Box Score | Highlights
Scoring over 100 points for the third time in conference play, Florida State cruised to a road victory at Virginia. Junior guard Ta'Niya Latson led all scorers with 27 points and handed out a career-high 12 assists for her fifth double-double of the season. Teammate Makayla Timpson followed with 18 points, eight rebounds and eight blocks, as the eight rejections tie for the most in a league game this season. Winning six straight games, Florida State finished the night 39-for-75 (52.0 percent) from the field and knocked down 10 3-pointers. Kymora Johnson and Paris Clark led the Cavaliers with 16 points apiece, as Johnson also added eight rebounds and six assists.



#10 Duke 74, Clemson 55 | Box Score | Highlights
Led by freshman Toby Fournier's 20 points on 9-of-12 shooting, Duke used a big third quarter to help pull away from Clemson for its sixth win in its last seven games. After Fournier's sixth 20-point performance of the season, Ashlon Jackson connected on three 3-pointers for 15 points, while sophomore Oluchi Okananwa finished a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor and 2-of-2 from the free throw line for 14 points. For the Tigers, Maddi Cluse posted a team-high 19 points with four 3-pointers and four rebounds.



#17 Georgia Tech 70, SMU 69 | Box Score | Highlights
In a back-and-forth contest, No. 17 Georgia Tech held off SMU's upset bid inside McCamish Pavilion. The Yellow Jackets were led by Kara Dunn with 15 points and eight rebounds, while Tonie Morgan closely followed with 14 points and four assists. On the opposite end, the Mustangs placed five players in double figures led by TK Pitts with a season-high 19 points, while Jessica Peterson recorded her 11th double-double on the year with 12 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.



Louisville 70, #21 California 63 | Box Score | Highlights
Olivia Cochran narrowly missed a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds, as Louisville bounced back with its second win over a ranked opponent this season over No. 21 California. The Cardinals scored 22 points off of 23 Golden Bear turnovers, as Jayda Curry led the way on the defensive end with four steals. Cochran's 18 points match a season-high as she became the 13th player in Louisville history to reach 1,500 career points. California, which scored just four bench points, was led by Michelle Onyiah with 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting.



#3 Notre Dame 96, Stanford 47 | Box Score | Highlights
Closing the second quarter on a 26-2 run, No. 3 Notre Dame ran away with a home victory over Stanford. Hannah Hidalgo (24 points) and Olivia Miles (20 points) combined for 44 points, while Maddy Westbeld and Cassandre Prosper added 13 points apiece. As a team, the Fighting Irish shot 55.4 percent (36-for-65) from the floor including a 9-for-17 (9-for-17) mark from 3-point range. On the defensive end, Notre Dame forced 29 turnovers, tying for the second-most turnovers forced in an ACC game this season. Stanford, which saw leading scorer Nunu Agara go down early with an injury, was paced by Tess Heal with 10 points.
