CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Week 15 of the Atlantic Coast Conference wrestling season kicks off with three conference showdowns on Friday night, including two top-20 matchups, with regular-season conference standings on the line from top to bottom.
On Friday, February 7, No. 18 North Carolina will visit No. 15 Pitt at 7 p.m. ET as the match on
ACC Friday Night Duals on ACC Network, while No. 17 Stanford will host No. 10 Virginia Tech at 10 p.m. ET on ACCNX. Duke will travel to Virginia on Friday night (7 p.m. ET), with both teams looking for their first conference win of the season.
On Sunday, February 9, Pitt will step out of conference action one last time to take on No. 14 Iowa State in Ames, Iowa, in another top-20 showdown at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
No. 6 NC State, which is idle this week, sits atop of the conference standings at 4-0 and is followed by North Carolina, Pitt and Virginia Tech at 2-1. Stanford is in fifth place entering the weekend at 1-1 in its first season in the ACC, ahead of both Virginia (0-3) and Duke (0-4).

Noting ACC Wrestling
- The ACC had five teams ranked in the latest top 25 of the NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll (February 4), with NC State leading the way at No. 6. Virginia Tech stayed at No. 10, while Pitt moved up one spot to No. 15. Stanford dropped two spots to No. 17, one place ahead of North Carolina at No. 18 overall.
- In the most recent InterMat Individual rankings (February 4), a season-high 48 wrestlers out of the ACC were ranked in the top 33 of their respective weight classes, including at least five wrestlers over seven different weight classes - 125, 133, 149, 157, 165, 174 and 285. Led by Virginia Tech's Caleb Henson ranked at No. 1 at 149 pounds, a season-best 14 ACC grapplers are ranked in the top 10 nationally, including three at 149 and 174 pounds, respectively.
- In the first NCAA Most Dominant Wrestler standings (February 3), Stanford's Lorenzo Norman (174) ranks in the top 10, coming in at No. 7 overall with an average of 3.89 points. The Most Dominant Wrestler standings are calculated by adding the total number of team points awarded through match results and dividing that number by the total number of matches wrestled.
- In the first NCAA Top 33 Coaches' Rankings by Weight Class (January 23), the ACC had 43 wrestlers ranked, including 13 in the top 10.
- Overall, the seven ACC wrestling teams are a combined 36-18 in non-conference dual matches over the first 14 weeks of the season, including posting a 16-8 at home and a 12-5 record in true road bouts in non-ACC dual-match action.
- ESPN and the ACC announced that ACC Friday Night Duals will return this season to ACC Network with five straight weeks of conference matchups, which began on January 24.
- For the third time this season, Vince Robinson was named the ACC Wrestler of the Week for matches on January 31 and February 1.
- With the addition of Stanford, the ACC now has seven programs that sponsor wrestling – Duke, North Carolina, NC State, Pitt, Stanford, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
