CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference had 16 student-athletes across four winter sports named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-Americans following the conclusion of the 2024-25 winter season.
Five different schools had at least one honoree, with the ACC having nine student-athletes recognized in women’s swimming and diving, five for men’s swimming & diving, and one honored in men’s basketball.
The Academic All-America acknowledgment was highlighted by repeat honorees Academic All-America Team Member of the Year Gretchen Walsh of Virginia (second team in 2022-23, first team in 2023-24) and Alex Walsh (first team in 2023-24) in women’s swimming & diving, and Ron Polonsky of Stanford (first team in 2022-23, first team in 2023-24) and Björn Seeliger of California (first team in 2022-23, first team in 2023-24) in men’s swimming & diving.
Nominees must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate grade point average.
