2025 NCAA Tournament Bracket
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Boston College, Duke and North Carolina notched second-round wins Sunday, May 11, to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship. This marks the fifth time in the last six tournaments that at least three ACC teams have moved on to the quarterfinals. The No. 1 seed Tar Heels topped ACC rival Clemson, 18-9, while No. 2 seed Boston College ousted Stony Brook, 10-7. Duke knocked off No. 5 seed Virginia, 17-9, to advance to its first NCAA Quarterfinal since 2021.
The quarterfinals will be played on Thursday, May 15, beginning with Duke traveling to No. 4 seed Florida at 2:30 p.m. ET. Boston College follows with a 5 p.m. ET contest against No. 7 Yale, and UNC finishes the day with a 7:30 p.m. ET game against Princeton. The quarterfinal games will air on ESPNU.
North Carolina (19-0) used five goals from Marissa White, four from Chloe Humphrey and seven assists from Ashley Humphrey to roll past Clemson in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. During the game, Chloe Humphrey established a new NCAA record for goals by a freshman. Her 77 on the season moved her past Maryland's Karri Ellen Johnson, who held the record with 74. Katie Castiello recorded four goals and an assist for Clemson (14-7), which was making its first NCAA Tournament appearance and scored its first tourney win on Friday against Navy.
Rachel Clark scored four goals and Emma LoPinto recorded a hat trick and an assist as Boston College (18-2) outlasted Stony Brook on Sunday in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.
After knocking off James Madison on Friday, Duke (14-5) scored a commanding 17-9 victory over Virginia (12-7) in Charlottesville, Virginia. Callie Hem scored seven goals and Bella Goodwin added six goals for the Blue Devils. Jenna Dinardo and Kate Galica each scored three goals and recorded an assist for UVA.
Stanford (15-6) and Syracuse (10-9) were eliminated in one-goal losses Sunday, with Stanford falling, 13-12, in double overtime at No. 5 seed Florida in Gainesville, Florida, and the Orange dropping a 9-8 decision at No. 7 Yale in New Haven, Connecticut.
The winners of the four quarterfinal games will advance to the national semifinals at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The semifinal games will be shown on ESPNU at 3 and 5:30 p.m. ET on Friday, May 23. The championship game will air on ESPN on Sunday, May 25, at noon ET.
ACC teams have won 14 national titles, and at least one ACC team has played in the national title game in 14 of the last 15 seasons. The ACC has had at least one team in the national semifinals in 34 straight tournaments and 38 times overall. ACC teams have made 31 championship game appearances and 57 national semifinal appearances.
