CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - The 2025 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship begins this weekend with first-round games at campus sites. The Atlantic Coast Conference has four teams in the field, including three of the eight national seeds. ESPN2 or ESPNU will broadcast all eight of the first-round games this weekend.
ACC champion Syracuse notched the No. 6 seed after winning its first league championship since 2016. Duke claimed the No. 7 seed, while North Carolina is the No. 8 seed. Two-time reigning national champion Notre Dame also earned an at-large bid into the field.
Following Notre Dame's second straight national championship in 2024, the ACC owns 19 NCAA championships in men's lacrosse. Current ACC membership collectively owns 27 NCAA championships, including 11 of the last 16 and 16 titles since 2000.
The five ACC men's lacrosse programs each were ranked in the final USILA Coaches poll of the regular season, with Syracuse at No. 5, Duke at No. 6, North Carolina at No. 8, Notre Dame at No. 10 and Virginia at No. 19.

Noting ACC Men's Lacrosse
• Four ACC teams earned 2025 NCAA Tournament bids, with Syracuse (6), Duke (7) and North Carolina (8) earning seeds and Notre Dame also notching a berth.
• The ACC owns 19 NCAA Championships, including four of the last five with Virginia in 2019 and 2021 and Notre Dame in 2023 and 2024.
• The five active ACC teams have combined for 27 national championships, including 11 of the last 16.
• Syracuse owns 10 NCAA titles (most of any NCAA program), while Virginia has won seven, UNC five, Duke three and Notre Dame two.
• Notre Dame captured its second straight NCAA Championship in 2024, winning four straight games by at least five goals each.
• A current ACC school has played in the NCAA Championship game in 20 of the last 23 tournaments.
• The ACC boasts 78 appearances in Championship Weekend, while current membership has combined for 87 appearances. For the 25th time in league history in 2024, the ACC had two representatives in the NCAA semifinals with Notre Dame and Virginia.
• At least one ACC team has advanced to the national semifinals in 49 of the 53 years in which the NCAA Tournament has been contested.
• Syracuse won the 2025 ACC Championship on May 4 in Charlotte, downing Duke, 9-8, in the title game. It was SU's third ACC crown (2015, 2016).
• Notre Dame and North Carolina shared the ACC regular-season title, with the Fighting Irish earning the No. 1 seed in the ACC Tournament by virtue of their 12-6 win over UNC on April 19.
• The five ACC teams were ranked in the final USILA Coaches poll of the regular season, with Syracuse at No. 5, Duke at No. 6, North Carolina at No. 8, Notre Dame at No. 10 and Virginia at No. 19.
• All five ACC teams ranked among the top 15 in the final NCAA RPI: Syracuse (6), Duke (7), North Carolina (9), Notre Dame (10) and Virginia (13).
• 11 ACC student-athletes were chosen in the 2025 Premier Lacrosse League Draft on Tuesday. The 11 ACC players selected were the most of any conference.
• Duke's Andrew McAdorey (No. 2, Redwoods), Syracuse's Sam English (No. 3, Redwoods) and SU's Owen Hiltz (8th, Chaos) each were selected in the first round.
• Eight ACC players have been named nominees for the 2025 Tewaaraton Award.
• All five ACC teams are among the top teams nationally in Strength of Schedule (by opponent win pct.): Syracuse (3), Virginia (4), Duke (8), Notre Dame (9) and North Carolina (11).
• Four ACC coaches rank among the top 10 in career wins among active coaches, most of any conference: Duke's John Danowski (first, 484), ND's Kevin Corrigan (third, 369), UNC's Joe Breschi (fifth, 261) and Virginia's Lars Tiffany (ninth, 211). Danowski owns the third-most wins of any D-I head coach all-time.
