ACC Announces Volleyball Players of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Miami’s Flormarie Heredia Colon was named Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week while Louisville’s Cara Cresse earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Stanford’s Logan Parks and Clemson’s Katherine Sandt shared ACC Setter of the Week honors while Stanford’s Erika Sayer was named ACC Freshman of the Week.

ACC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Flormarie Heredia Colon, Sr., Outside Hitter, Miami (Santo Domingo, DR)
  • Had 69 kills, an average of 5.31 kills per set for the week.
  • No. 1 in the ACC in kills per set with 4.84 this season.
  • No. 1 in the ACC and No. 2 in the nation in points per set with 5.74 this season.
  • Tied for No. 1 in the ACC in service aces per set with 0.60 this season.

ACC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cara Cresse, Sr., Middle Blocker, Louisville (Ft. Wayne, Indiana)
  • Recorded 28 total blocks and 1.65 blocks per set for the week.
  • Set the program record for single-match blocks with 14 against No. 2 Texas on September 10.
  • Was named MVP of the Bluejay Invitational, including defeat of No. 18 Creighton on September 12.
  • No. 1 in the ACC in solo blocks with 5 this season.
 
ACC CO-SETTER OF THE WEEK
Logan Parks, Fr., Setter, Stanford (Overland Park, Kansas)
  • Recorded 112 assists, an average of 11.20 assists per set for the week.
  • Set the Cardinal offense to a .359 hitting percentage, including a season-high .408 in the win over No. 23 Missouri on September 9.
  • Added 20 digs and 13 total blocks to the Cardinal defense.
  • Recorded four service aces on the week.
 
ACC CO-SETTER OF THE WEEK
Katherine Sandt, R-So., Setter, Clemson (Western Springs, Illinois)
  • Recorded 155 assists, an average of 10.33 assists per set for the week.
  • Recorded 56 digs (3.73 digs per set), eight kills and five service aces for the week.
  • Surpassed 1,000 career assists in the win versus USC-Upstate.
  • Helped lead the Tigers to a 4-0 week (9-0 overall) to remain one of just 12 undefeated teams left in the nation.
  • No. 1 in the ACC in total assists with 339 (second in assists/set with 10.59) this season.
 
ACC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Erika Sayer, Fr., Middle Blocker, Stanford (Colorado Springs, Colorado)
  • Recorded 31 kills, an average of 3.10 kills per set for the week, while hitting .500.
  • Recorded a career-high 16 kills and 20 points on a then-career-best .583 hitting percentage in the win over No. 23 Missouri on September 9.
  • Recorded a career-high nine blocks in the win over Utah State on September 12.
  • No. 2 in the ACC in hitting percentage (.447).
