(theACC.com) - Miami’s Flormarie Heredia Colon was named Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week while Clemson’s McKenna Gildon earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors. SMU’s Averi Carlson and Clemson’s Katherine Sandt shared ACC Setter of the Week honors while Stanford’s Erika Sayer was named ACC Freshman of the Week.
ACC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Flormarie Heredia Colon, Sr., Outside Hitter, Miami (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic)
- Totaled 64 kills, an average of 5.82 kills per set for the week.
- No. 1 in the NCAA in points per set with 6.21 this season.
- Registered 26 kills and hit .354 in Thursday’s victory over Coastal Carolina.
- Recorded eight aces in Friday’s win over FGCU, the second-most in a four-set match in program history.
- Put down 17 kills and hit .308 in a 3-0 sweep of FIU on Saturday.
- Second straight week as ACC Offensive Player of the Week
ACC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
McKenna Gildon, Jr., Libero, Clemson (Plano, Texas)
- Recorded 66 total digs and 5.08 digs per set to lead Clemson to a perfect 3-0 record last week.
- Registered her first career double-double with a career-high 26 sets and 11 assists in the win against Charleston Southern on September 19.
- Was named to the Big Orange Bash All-Tournament Team.
- Currently ranks second in the ACC in total digs with 192 and fifth in digs per set (4.09) this season to help lead the Tigers to a perfect 12-0 non-conference slate.
ACC CO-SETTER OF THE WEEK
Averi Carlson, Sr., Setter, SMU (Lucas, Texas)
- Recorded 82 assists, an average of 11.71 assists per set in SMU’s two wins last week.
- Set the Mustangs’ offense to a .318 hitting percentage on the week.
- Added 15 digs and four total blocks for the defense.
- Recorded three service aces on the week.
- Third time this season named ACC Setter of the Week.

Katherine Sandt, R-So., Setter, Clemson (Western Springs, Illinois)
- Recorded 137 assists, an average of 10.54 assists per set for the week.
- Tallied 14 kills, hit .433, added 29 digs and registered five total blocks for the week.
- Recorded a season-high 52 assists in the win over Georgetown.
- Was named the Big Orange Bash Setter of the Tournament.
- Currently leads the ACC in total assists with 576 this season.
- Second straight week as ACC Setter of the Week.
ACC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Erika Sayer, Fr., Middle Blocker, Stanford (Colorado Springs, Colorado)
- Recorded 29 kills, an average of 2.90 kills per set for the week, while hitting .449 in Stanford’s perfect 3-0 week.
- Hit a career-high .700 with seven kills against Texas State.
- Recorded 12 total blocks.
- Currently ranks third in the ACC in hitting percentage (.448).
- Second straight week as ACC Freshman of the Week.
