Notre Dame’s Chukwu, NC State’s Pratapas Named ACC Women’s Soccer Players of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Notre Dame sophomore forward Annabelle Chukwu has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while NC State senior goalkeeper Olivia Pratapas was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week for matches played September 15-21.

OFFENSIVE – Annabelle Chukwu, So., F, Notre Dame (Ottawa, Ontario)
  • Recorded a goal and an assist in Thursday’s victory over No. 3 Duke.
  • Scored the game-winning goal in the 64th minute, her third game-winner of the season.
  • Assisted on the match’s opening goal in the 24th minute.
  • Marked her fourth straight match with multiple points.
DEFENSIVE – Olivia Pratapas, Sr., GK, NC State (Clemmons, North Carolina)
  • Totaled seven saves in Thursday’s win over SMU (1-0) and Sunday’s draw with No. 7 Florida State (1-1).
  • Thursday’s shutout was her third clean sheet of the season.
  • Held FSU, the ACC’s third-best scoring attack, scoreless until a 90th-minute equalizer, ending her shutout streak at 183 minutes.

  • ACC teams have combined for 81 non-conference victories this season, tied for the most among all conferences.
  • ACC teams own a 15-9-7 (.597) record against Power Four opponents.
