ACC Announces Volleyball Players of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Pitt’s Olivia Babcock was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week while California’s Sophia Johnson earned ACC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Pitt’s Brooke Mosher garnered ACC Setter of the Week honors while Stanford’s Logan Parks was named ACC Freshman of the Week for matches played September 22-28.

ACC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Olivia Babcock, Jr., Right Side Hitter, Pitt (Los Angeles, California)
  • Totaled 51 kills, an average of 5.67 kills per set in a pair of ranked wins over No. 11 SMU.
  • Totaled a team-high 22 kills while hitting .400 on September 24.
  • Recorded a season-best 29 kills while hitting .434 on September 28.
  • Second ACC Offensive Player of the Week honor this season (August 25).

ACC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sophia Johnson, Jr., DS/Libero, California (Wayzata, Minnesota)
  • Recorded 37 total digs, an average of 5.29 digs per set.
  • Led the court in both matches with 16 digs against Virginia Tech and 21 digs against Virginia to help the Golden Bears go 2-0 to begin conference play.
  • Helped hold Virginia to its lowest hitting percentage of the season (.016).
  • Registered a perfect 1.000 on service receptions against Virginia Tech.
 
ACC SETTER OF THE WEEK
Brooke Mosher, R-Sr., Setter, Pitt (Waterloo, Wisconsin)
  • Recorded 103 assists, an average of 11.44 assists per set in two Top 15 wins over No. 11 SMU.
  • Registered a season-high five service aces in the win against SMU on September 24.
  • Notched a career-high 52 assists against the Mustangs on September 28 while leading the Panthers to a .310 hitting percentage.
 
ACC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Logan Parks, Fr., Setter, Stanford (Overland Park, Kansas)
  • Recorded 75 assists, an average of 10.71 assists per set.
  • Totaled 26 digs, five kills and three service aces.
  • Set the Cardinal to a season-best .435 hitting percentage in the sweep over Virginia Tech on September 28.
  • Registered her second double-double of the season with 33 assists and 15 digs against Virginia before recording her third of the season with 42 assists and 11 digs against Virginia Tech.
