CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Clemson senior midfielder Nathan Richmond earned Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors, while SMU senior defender Slade Starnes claimed ACC Defensive Player of the Week accolades for matches played from September 22-28, as announced Tuesday.
Nathan Richmond, Sr., M, Clemson (Atlanta, Georgia)
• Netted his first brace of the season on Friday, September 26, in the Tigers’ 4-3 triumph at No. 13 Wake Forest.
• Richmond scored the eventual game-winning goal in the second half after a 26-minute second-half drought.
• Took five shots, scoring on both of his shots on goal.
Slade Starnes, Sr., D, SMU (Dallas, Texas)
• Captained and led the Mustangs' defensive line to claim its second clean sheet victory of the season, a 2-0 win on Saturday, September 27, at No. 21 Notre Dame.
• SMU's defense limited the Fighting Irish's offense to just two shots on target, while conceding only four corner kicks.
Men’s Soccer Notes
• In the NCAA’s Tuesday RPI report, nine teams rank among the top 30, highlighted by No. 4 NC State, No. 6 Virginia, No. 9 Stanford and No. 10 Duke in the top 10.
• ACC teams have combined for a 56-15-16 record in non-conference play (.736 win percentage, best of any league).
• NC State (7-0-2) and Duke (4-0-3) are two of 18 teams nationally that have yet to suffer a loss in 2025.
