CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference announced Thursday the basketball student-athletes selected by its 18 league schools to attend the 2025 ACC Tipoff, which will be held October 6-8 at the Hilton Charlotte Uptown in Charlotte, North Carolina. The women’s event will be held on Monday, October 6 and Tuesday, October 7 while men’s will begin on Tuesday, October 7 and conclude Wednesday, October 8.
ACC Commissioner Jim Phillips, Ph.D will participate in the Commissioner’s Forum at 12:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, October 7.
ACC Network will be live from ACC Tipoff for three days of expansive coverage from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The 24/7 national network dedicated to ACC sports will provide the event’s most robust television coverage.
Men’s Notes
- ACC Men’s Basketball has won 15 NCAA national championships.
- Teams currently in the ACC have combined to win eight of the last 24 NCAA crowns and 19 overall.
- The ACC has captured three of the last 10 NCAA Championships (Duke 2015, North Carolina 2017 and Virginia 2019).
- Since 2015, the ACC leads all conferences in Men’s Final Four appearances (10) and NCAA Tournament wins (116).
- Six different ACC programs have reached the Final Four since 2015 (Duke, Miami, North Carolina, NC State, Virginia, Syracuse) – the most schools of any league in that span.
- Since the tournament expanded in 1985, nearly half of the ACC teams that earned NCAA Tournament bids have reached the Sweet 16 (106 of 218).
Women’s Notes
- Eight ACC teams were selected to compete in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. It marked the seventh consecutive NCAA Tournament in which eight ACC teams were selected, which ties the league record and is the most among all conferences in that span.
- A current ACC team has appeared in 17 of the last 18 Women’s Final Fours, dating back to 2007.
- The ACC has sent at least one team to the Elite Eight in 23 consecutive tournaments, the longest active streak of any conference.
- Entering 2025-26, the ACC has posted 141 NCAA Tournament victories since 2014, tied for the most among all conferences.
- Five ACC teams enter the 2025-26 season ranked in ESPN’s Way-Too-Early Women’s Basketball Top 25, including three teams in the top 10 with Duke (No. 8), NC State (No. 9) and North Carolina (No. 10). Louisville (No. 17) and Notre Dame (No. 18) also appear in the top 25.
