ACC Selects RefMasters’ RefScore as its Performance & Development Platform for Men’s Basketball Officials

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Atlantic Coast Conference has announced a new partnership with RefMasters, adopting the company’s advanced officiating analytics platform, RefScore, for its ACC men’s basketball officials beginning with the 2025–26 season. This collaboration places the ACC at the forefront of technology-driven referee development, leveraging large-scale performance data, systemized analysis and modern evaluation tools to support officials across one of college basketball’s most competitive conferences.

RefScore structures observer feedback to provide a complete, quantitative picture of officiating performance. Its intuitive scoring framework and advanced reporting enables supervisors and coordinators to track progress in real time and identify targeted areas for growth. ACC officials and leadership will gain access to both conference-wide analytics and individualized reports that support performance improvement as well as transparency, consistency, and long-term referee development.

“Our goal has always been to give ACC officials every possible resource to grow, compete, and succeed at the highest level,” said Bryan Kersey, ACC Men’s Basketball Supervisor of Officials. “RefScore allows us to harness data in ways we simply couldn’t before. It provides clarity, consistency, and a modern approach to performance development. It also raises the bar for what’s possible in officiating.”

For RefMasters, the partnership represents another milestone in an accelerating series of collaborations with leading organizations across professional, collegiate, and amateur sports.

“Working with the ACC is an honor and a responsibility,” said Sony Tiwari, Co-Founder & CEO of RefMasters. “The conference has embraced a forward-looking vision for officiating rooted in analytics, accountability, and continuous improvement. RefScore was built for this exact moment: to help elite officials grow through precise, data-driven insight. Partnering with one of the most storied conferences in college basketball is a major step forward in our mission to elevate officiating around the world.”

The rollout of RefScore across the ACC includes access to conference dashboards, individual RefScore evaluations, developmental tracking, and integration with RefMasters University sessions featuring NBA and NCAA officials. The new partnership will also support future technology pilots and co-developed officiating education initiatives.
