CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference and PitchCom have signed a multi-year agreement for PitchCom to be the provider for electronic signal calling devices throughout ACC baseball and softball, beginning immediately ahead of the 2026 season.
This past fall, the ACC voted to partner with PitchCom to serve as the provider of electronic signal calling devices and on-field communication for ACC Baseball and Softball. PitchCom enhances competitive integrity by eliminating the risk of sign stealing and ensuring clear, reliable communication between coaches and players, both offensively and defensively.
“The ACC is thrilled to partner with PitchCom as the league continues to invest in modern and innovative solutions that enhance both the student-athlete and competitive experience,” said ACC Senior Vice President of Olympic Sports and SWA, Jessica Rippey. “PitchCom’s proven technology will further the efficiency, pace of play and integrity of the ACC’s baseball and softball competitions, while continuing to help our programs operate at the highest level on the playing field.”
“A single standard for on-field electronic communication is essential for integrity and fair competition. We’re proud the ACC selected PitchCom as its partner for the next four years,” said John Hankins, co-owner of PitchCom. “PitchCom’s proven performance across professional and NCAA baseball and softball is unmatched, and our speed and reliability help elevate the quality of play on every field.”
“The ACC continues to drive advancements in game play that set the standard in collegiate diamond sports,” stated Jon Updike, Vice President of Customer Relations for PitchCom. “This partnership with PitchCom will help to ensure a quality on field product for member schools, broadcast and fans in the years to come.”
The PitchCom system features three parts: a transmitter remote, an audio receiver and a visual receiver. The transmitter remote is programmable for coach-to-player communication, directly through the audio and visual receivers. The audio receiver is worn inside the cap, while the visual receiver is worn on the wrist.
In addition to a strong stake in the collegiate landscape, PitchCom is the exclusive on-field communication device for Major League Baseball, the World Baseball Classic and USA Softball.
