CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – North Carolina sophomore Bella Devey was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while Tar Heel defender Cali O’Neill was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week for ACC Women’s Soccer. California’s Alyssa Savig was named the ACC Goalkeeper of the Week, while Louisville striker McKalie Ball was named the ACC Freshman of the Week for matches played September 28–October 4.
OFFENSIVE – Bella Devey, So., F, North Carolina (Draper, Utah)
- Scored two goals in a 4-1 victory over No. 12 Notre Dame on Friday.
- The brace marked the third consecutive match in which the forward has recorded two goals.
- Scored in the 13th minute to open the scoring and later scored in the 17th minute to give the Tar Heels a quick 2-0 lead.
- Currently leads the ACC in goals with 14.
DEFENSIVE – Cali O’Neill, Fr., D, North Carolina (Durham, North Carolina)
- Played the full 90 minutes along the backline in Friday’s 4-1 win over No. 12 Notre Dame.
- Earned an assist on a 27th-minute tally to give UNC a 3-0 first-half lead.
- Helped limit the Fighting Irish to just four shots on goal.
GOALKEEPER – Alyssa Savig, Jr., GK, California (Roseville, California)
- Made a season-high five saves in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with No. 6 Duke.
- Held the Blue Devils scoreless for over 67 minutes and faced 25 shots.
- Currently ranks second in the ACC with a 0.60 goals against average.
FRESHMAN – McKalie Ball, Fr., F, Louisville (Knoxville, Tennessee)
- Scored Louisville’s first goal in its 2-1 victory over Virginia Tech on Saturday.
- Broke the scoreless deadlock with a 67th-minute header for the second goal of her collegiate career.
- Finished the match with a pair of shots.
