CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Florida State senior guard Robert McCray V earned Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors, and Duke forward Cameron Boozer claimed Rookie of the Week honors for games played from February 16-22, as announced Monday.
ACC men’s basketball weekly honors are nominated by the respective schools and determined by a vote of an 18-member media panel.
Boozer notched ACC Rookie of the Week honors for the ninth time this season, which is tied for the fifth most in a season in league history.
Robert McCray V, Sr., G, Florida State (Columbia, South Carolina)
• Averaged 28.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in wins over Boston College and Clemson.
• Shot 19-of-34 (55.9 percent) from the field, 7-of-15 (46.7 percent) from the 3-point line and 11-of-13 (84.6 percent) from the free-throw line.
• Scored 27 points in Florida State's victory over Boston College (February 17) and 29 at Clemson (February 21). His 29-point effort at Clemson was his ACC season high.
• Totaled 18 second-half points against Boston College and 22 second-half points against Clemson as Florida State rallied for wins in both games.
Cameron Boozer, Fr., F, Duke (Miami, Florida)
• Averaged 20.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.0 block while shooting 70.0% from the field in wins over Syracuse and No. 1 Michigan.
• Went 14-of-20 from the floor, 2-of-3 from 3-point range and 10-of-13 at the free-throw line.
• Recorded double-doubles in both victories, finishing with 22 points and 12 rebounds in 25 minutes against Syracuse before posting 18 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and two blocks in the win over the top-ranked Wolverines to earn the game’s MVP honors.
• With two more double-doubles, he now owns an ACC-best 15 on the season.
