Virginia Tech’s Collin Gaj Tabbed ACC Wrestler of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Virginia Tech’s Collin Gaj was tabbed the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week for competition in Week 13 of the 2025-26 season, it was announced on Tuesday.
 
The honor marks the first weekly award for Gaj. He is the 11th different wrestler to earn the weekly honor this season and the fourth different Hokie.

Collin Gaj, Fr., 149 pounds, Virginia Tech (Quakertown, Pennsylvania)
  • Helped Virginia Tech remain perfect in conference competition and take sole possession of first place in the ACC duals regular-season standings with a 21-12 win at No. 8 NC State last Friday, January 31.
  • The Hokies handed the Wolfpack its first home loss since 2019.
  • Picked up a signature win with a 6-0 decision over No. 5 Koy Buesgens at 149 pounds.
  • Opened up the scoring in the second period with a four-point near fall before riding out an escape in the third period to get the shutout victory.
  • Avenged a loss from the previous meeting between the two teams at the National Duals Invitational this past November.
  • The win was his ninth straight victory and pushed his record to 17-7 on the season.
