CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Atlantic Coast Conference Softball kicks off the 2026 season with 76 games over the course of four days this Opening Weekend, beginning this Thursday, February 6, as No. 7 Florida State, No. 12 Clemson, No. 17 Stanford, No. 21 Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, NC State and North Carolina hit the field for their competition of the spring season.
Boston College, Clemson, Notre Dame and Pitt will head to Clearwater, Florida, for the 2026 NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic, highlighted by a top 25 double-header for No. 12 Clemson on Friday, February 6, as the Tigers take on No. 3 Oregon at 4 p.m. ET, followed by a 7 p.m. ET matchup against No. 23 Liberty. Boston College also faces a ranked opponent, taking on No. 4 Tennessee on Saturday, February 7, at 1 p.m. ET, while Notre Dame will face off with No. 23 Liberty on Sunday, February 8, at 10 a.m. ET.
Outside of the NFCA DI Leadoff Classic, there will be four ranked matchups this opening weekend. No. 17 Stanford will host No. 20 Oklahoma State on Friday at 9 p.m. ET and again on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. ET. No. 21 Virginia Tech will face off with No. 14 South Carolina on Friday at 6 p.m. ET and Saturday at 5:30 p.m. ET. Both games will take place in Columbia, South Carolina.

Noting ACC Softball
- Florida State was voted the preseason favorite to win the 2026 ACC Softball title by the league’s 15 head coaches.
- Five ACC softball teams were ranked among the top 25 of the ESPN.com/USA Softball Preseason Poll. Florida State leads the group at No. 7 followed by No. 12 Clemson, No. 17 Stanford, No. 19 Duke and No. 21 Virginia Tech.
- Seven members of the Preseason All-ACC softball team were named to the USA Softball Top 50 Watch List for the 2026 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year. Among the list are: Jaysoni Beachum (Florida State), Macey Cintron (Clemson), Jazzy Francik (Florida State), Kennedy Harp (Florida State), River Mahler (Stanford), Aminah Vega (Duke) and Isa Torres (Florida State).
- Virginia will host the 2026 ACC Softball Championship from Wednesday, May 6, to Saturday, May 9, at Palmer Park in Charlottesville, Virginia.
