CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – NC State senior guard Quadir Copeland earned Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors, while Stanford’s Ebuka Okorie and North Carolina’s Caleb Wilson shared Rookie of the Week laurels for games played from February 2-8, as announced Monday.
ACC men’s basketball weekly honors are nominated by the respective schools and determined by a vote of an 18-member media panel.
Quadir Copeland, Sr., G, NC State (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)
• Averaged 14.0 points, 13.0 assists, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals in NC State wins over SMU and Virginia Tech.
• Passed out a career-high 16 assists with zero turnovers and grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds in the Wolfpack’s 84-83 win at SMU on Tuesday.
• The 16 assists tie for the fourth-most in a game in program history.
• First Division I player since 2019 to log 16 assists and zero turnovers and first ACC player since 1997 to accomplish the feat.
• Set the program single-game record for most assists without a turnover.
• Scored 21 points (season-high against an ACC team this season), passed out 10 assists and tied a career-high with five steals in the Wolfpack’s 82-73 win over Virginia Tech on Saturday.
Ebuka Okorie, Fr., G, Stanford (Nashua, New Hampshire)
• Averaged 29.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game on shooting splits of 56/56/100 on the week in games against No. 20 Clemson and Georgia Tech.
• Broke his own Stanford freshman single-game scoring record and became the first Stanford player in 24 years to score 40 points with a 40-point effort against Georgia Tech.
• Became the fifth freshman in ACC history to score 40 points in a game, joining Cooper Flagg, Tyler Hansbrough, Harrison Barnes and Olivier Hanlan.
• He is the first Stanford player with a 40-point game since Casey Jacobsen scored 41 on February 7, 2002, versus Oregon. Okorie’s performance is the ninth in program history of at least 40 points.
• He is just the fifth Stanford player and seventh overall player to score 40 or more at Maples Pavilion in a men’s basketball game.
• Scored 18 points with three assists against Clemson.

• Scored 17 of his 22 points against Duke in the first half as he outscored the rest of the UNC team in the half (the first time a Tar Heel has done that in two seasons). It was his fifth-straight 20-point game.
• Finished 8-for-12 from the floor, 6-for-6 from the line, had two assists, no turnovers, a block and two steals against the Blue Devils.
