This Week in ACC Women’s Golf

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Headlined by three individual titles won by Atlantic Coast Conference women’s golfers last week, the 2025-26 season continues this week as the 2026 ACC Women’s Golf Championship is just one month away.

NC State’s Marie Madsen and Notre Dame’s Alexsandra Lapple earned their second victories of the 2025-26 season. Madsen won the individual title at the Daniel Island Invitational, while Lapple took the top spot at the SoCal Spring Invite. California’s Constance Foullier shared medalist honors at the Juli Inkster Invitational for her first win of the season.

Louisville claimed the lone team title last week, winning the Riverbend Intercollegiate. The win marked the ACC’s 20th team title of the 2025-26 season.

Beginning Monday, March 16, six ACC team trek to the Briar’s Creek Invitational in Johns Island, South Carolina. Not participating in this year’s tournament, Florida State won the event a season ago as the only team to finish under par.

  • The ACC has six teams ranked in the top 25 in the latest Scoreboard powered by Clippd rankings (March 11): No. 1 Stanford, No. 8 Wake Forest, No. 11 Duke, No. 13 North Carolina, No. 18 Florida State and No. 24 SMU.
  • In the most recent Scoreboard powered by Clippd Individual Rankings (March 11), eight ACC players ranked in the top 25, including four in the top 10: No. 2 Andrea Revuelta (Stanford), No. 5 Paula Martín Sampedro (Stanford), No. 7 Megha Ganne (Stanford), No. 10 Meja Örtengren (Stanford), No. 12 Rianne Malixi (Duke), No. 16 Macy Pate (Wake Forest), No. 19 Marie Madsen (NC State) and No. 20 Kelly Xu (Stanford).
  • In the first spring Mizuno WGCA Coaches Poll (Feb. 27), five ACC teams were ranked in the top 25, led by No. 1 Stanford, followed by Wake Forest (No. 7), Duke (No. 13), North Carolina (No. 14) and Florida State (No. 24). SMU is receiving votes.

  • For the first time in program history, Florida State won the 2025 ACC Women’s Golf Championship by defeating Wake Forest, 3-2, in the match play final at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
  • A total of 12 ACC women’s golf teams earned bids to the 2025 NCAA Regionals, tying for the most selections among all conferences and setting a new league record.
  • After three ACC teams (Stanford, Florida State and Virginia) advanced to match play at the 2025 NCAA Women’s Golf Championship, Stanford reached the national final but fell to Northwestern, 3-2.
  • The 2026 ACC Women’s Golf Championship is scheduled for April 16-19 at Porters Neck Country Club in Wilmington, North Carolina. The semifinal round on Friday, April 18, and the final round on Saturday, April 19, will be streamed live on ACC Network Extra.
