Syracuse’s Guzik, Clemson’s Scott Pick Up ACC Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Syracuse sophomore midfielder Molly Guzik notched Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Clemson freshman defender Teagan Scott was tabbed the ACC Defensive Player of the Week for games played from March 9-15.
 
Nine ACC women’s lacrosse teams are ranked among the top 25 teams in the latest IWLCA poll, the most among all conferences. Four ACC teams stand in the top 10, with North Carolina at No. 1, Stanford at No. 2, Clemson at No. 9 and Syracuse at No. 10. Also among the top 25: No. 13 Notre Dame, No. 15 Duke, No. 16 Boston College, No. 19 Virginia and No. 24 Pitt.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF WEEK – Molly Guzik, So., M, Syracuse (Spencerport, New York)
• Scored six goals in a road victory over No. 4 Northwestern on Thursday, March 12.
• Recorded six of the Orange’s nine goals and earned five draw controls in the triumph.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF WEEK – Teagan Scott, Fr., D, Clemson (Charleston, South Carolina)
• Recorded six caused turnovers, seven ground balls and one draw control in 12-10 road win over No. 21 Virginia.
• This was Scott’s eighth consecutive multi-caused turnover game.
• Scott's six caused turnovers were her second highest in a single game for her this season.
• Her seven ground balls were a career high.
