CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - The Atlantic Coast Conference had five gymnasts named to the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) All-American teams.
The WCGA uses National Qualifying Scores (NQS) to determine first and second teams. First-Team All-America is awarded to the top eight finishers, plus ties, of the NCAA regular season for all four events plus the all-around. Second-Team All-America is awarded to the ninth through 16th place finishers, plus ties, of the NCAA regular season for all four events plus the all-around.
California led the way with two All-America honorees, highlighted by California’s Tonya Paulsson, who was named to the First Team on bars and the Second Team in the all-around. Annalise Newman-Achee was also named to the Second Team in the all-around.
Stanford’s Anna Roberts led all gymnasts with four All-America honors, garnering First-Team in the all-around and Second Team in vault, beam and floor.
Clemson’s Brie Clark was named to the First-Team on floor, and North Carolina’s Sydney Seabrooks was named to the Second-Team on floor.
