ACC Wrestling Championship Set for Sunday Showdown at Virginia Tech

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestling Championship gets underway on Sunday, March 8, at Cassell Coliseum on the campus of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. The all-day event begins with first-round matches at 10 a.m. ET and concludes with the nationally televised championship bouts at 8 p.m. ET live on ACC Network.

Tickets are on sale now for the 2026 ACC Wrestling Championship. Advance online pricing is $10, while day-of pricing is $15. Children ages two and under are admitted free (no ticket required), and all seating is general admission. All ticket sales are digital and can be purchased online at ACC Wrestling Championship Tickets.

Virginia Tech, winner of the 2026 ACC Regular-Season Dual Meet Championship, will look to repeat as conference champions in its home arena after capturing the 2025 ACC Wrestling Championship a year ago. Headlined by four individual champions last season, the title marked the Hokies’ first since 2018 and their fifth overall. NC State will aim to return to the top after winning six consecutive championships from 2019-24. The Wolfpack owns 21 ACC team titles overall, including seven of the last 10. The remainder of the championship field — Duke, North Carolina, Pitt, Stanford and Virginia — will each look to become the first program other than NC State or Virginia Tech to win the ACC Championship since Virginia claimed the title in 2015.

Five ACC teams finished the regular season ranked in the NWCA Division I Men’s Coaches Poll, led by Virginia Tech at No. 6 and NC State at No. 8. Pitt (No. 13), North Carolina (No. 15) and Stanford (No. 18) also enter championship weekend ranked in the top 20 nationally.

Four teams placed at least one wrestler as a No. 1 seed, with NC State and Stanford leading the way with three top seeds each. Virginia Tech secured two No. 1 seeds, while Pitt also enters with two wrestlers seeded atop their respective brackets.

The 2026 championship field features six previous ACC Champions across six different weight classes, including four defending champions in Eddie Ventresca (Virginia Tech, 125 pounds), Matty Singleton (NC State, 174 pounds), Mac Stout (Pitt, 197 pounds) and Dayton Pitzer (Pitt, 285 pounds).

First-round action begins at 10 a.m. ET, followed by the consolation quarterfinals at 1 p.m. ET and the semifinals at 2 p.m. ET. The consolation semifinals are set for 4:30 p.m. ET, with the consolation finals scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. Championship matches will begin at 8 p.m. ET and will be followed by the awards presentation.

ACC Network and ACC Network Extra will provide nearly 12 hours of live coverage from 10 a.m. ET through 10 p.m. ET. ACC Network Extra will stream the early and consolation rounds from both Mat 1 and Mat 2 on separate streams throughout the day. The championship finals at 8 p.m. ET will air live on ACC Network. Shawn Kenney and Rock Harrison headline the broadcast team on ACC Network, while Jason Patterson, Collin Gerardi, Bailey Angle and Dylan Ryan will also contribute to the championship coverage throughout the day.
