CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Duke freshman forward Cameron Boozer and Stanford freshman guard Ebuka Okorie shared the final Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Basketball weekly honors of the season, earning both Player and Rookie of the Week honors, for games played from March 2-8, as announced Monday.
ACC men’s basketball weekly honors are nominated by the respective schools and determined by a vote of an 18-member media panel.
Cameron Boozer, Fr., F, Duke (Miami, Florida)
• Averaged 26.0 points, 12.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists in wins over NC State and No. 17 North Carolina.
• Shot 66.7% from the field, 50.0% from 3-point range and 76.5% from the free-throw line.
• In the rivalry triumph over UNC, 76-61, he amassed 26 points, 15 rebounds and five assists, becoming the only Division I player in the last 30 seasons to post 25+ points, 15+ rebounds and 5+ assists in a regulation win over an AP top-25 opponent.
• During a 93-64 win at NC State, Boozer opened the week by recording 26 points, nine boards and six assists.
Ebuka Okorie, Fr., G, Stanford (Nashua, New Hampshire)
• Averaged 28.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in wins over Notre Dame and NC State.
• Shot 56 percent from the floor and 57 percent from beyond the arc.
• The ACC's leading scorer, Okorie tallied his seventh 30-point outing of the season, scoring 33 points with career highs of 13 field goals and five 3-pointers against NC State, to go with five rebounds, three assists and two steals.
• Tied Duke’s Marvin Bagley III (2017-18) for the most 30-point games by a freshman in ACC history..
• Added 24 points and seven assists against Notre Dame, finishing 10-for-19 from the floor with a trio of 3-pointers.
