Virginia Tech Repeats as 2026 ACC Wrestling Champions

BLACKSBURG, Va. (theACC.com) – In front of a record-breaking crowd of 4,692 fans at the 2026 ACC Wrestling Championship inside of Cassell Coliseum, Virginia Tech captured its second straight ACC Wrestling title and sixth overall.

The Hokies, the 2026 ACC Regular-Season Dual Meet Champions, piled up 106.0 points, put eight wrestlers in the finals and claimed five individual gold medals to secure their fourth ACC crown under head coach Tony Robie. The electric Sunday crowd set a new championship attendance record, topping the previous total of 3,834 (NC State, 2023) and marking the fifth straight year with 3,000+ fans.

Stanford placed second with 84.0 points, followed by NC State (57.0), North Carolina (53.0), Pitt (37.0), Virginia (21.5) and Duke (2.0).

Virginia Tech true freshman Aaron Seidel was sensational, earning Most Outstanding Wrestler honors after two dominant technical falls — 17-2 over Pitt’s No. 25 Evan Tallmadge and 18-3 over Stanford’s No. 8 Tyler Knox — to claim the 133-pound title.

Virginia Tech’s Eddie Ventresca (125) and NC State’s Matty Singleton (174) repeated as ACC champions, while the Hokies and Wolfpack combined to win seven of the 10 weight classes. Other champions included Stanford’s Jack Consiglio (141) and Daniel Cardenas (157) and North Carolina’s Bryce Hepner (165).

Four of the 10 matches went to extra periods, including a sudden victory thriller at 184 pounds and three tiebreakers at 125, 149 and 174.

Beyond the hardware, the championship secured 39 automatic NCAA bids, with the ACC now turning its attention to the 2026 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, set for March 19-21 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Below are the results of Sunday night’s championship matches. The winner and runner-up in each weight class earned 2026 All-ACC recognition.
