Virginia Wins Regular Season Title; Bracket Set for 2026 ACC Women’s Tennis Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - Virginia clinched its first ever outright regular season title and notched the top seed for the 2026 ACC Women’s Tennis Championship, which begins on Tuesday, April 14, at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina.

The Cavaliers finished the season a perfect 12-0 in conference competition, marking the first time they finished undefeated in league play in program history.

The top four seeds earn double byes into the quarterfinals on Friday, April 17. Virginia (19-4, 12-0 ACC) is followed by No. 2 North Carolina (23-2, 11-1 ACC), No. 3 NC State (19-7, 10-2 ACC) and No. 4 Duke (17-6, 10-2 ACC), with NC State holding the tiebreaker over Duke based on current ITA rankings.

The women’s championship starts at 10 a.m. ET on Tuesday, with No. 17 Virginia Tech (4-16, 1-11 ACC) taking on No. 16 Louisville (10-11, 1-11 ACC).

Four second-round matches will take place on Wednesday, April 15, beginning with No. 9 Stanford (11-9, 7-5 ACC) taking on the winner of Louisville and Virginia Tech on Bank 1 and No. 13 Syracuse (7-12, 3-9 ACC) and No. 12 Wake Forest (12-12, 4-8 ACC) matching up on Bank 2. Both of those matches will start at 3:30 p.m. ET.
 
The second wave of second-round matches will commence at 6 p.m. ET, with No. 15 Boston College (10-12, 2-10 ACC) taking on No. 10  Notre Dame (16-8, 5-7 ACC) on Bank 1 and No. 14 Florida State (6-16, 2-10 ACC) facing No. 11 Georgia Tech (10-13, 4-8 ACC) on Bank 2.
 
The third-round action will take place on Thursday, April 16, starting at 3:30 p.m. ET. In the first matches, No. 8 SMU (15-6, 7-5 ACC) will face the winner of the Stanford versus either Virginia Tech or Louisville match and No. 5 Miami (13-6, 8-4 ACC) will compete against the winner of the Syracuse and Wake Forest matchup. Then, at 6 p.m. ET, No. 7 Clemson (17-7, 7-5 ACC) will battle the winner of the Boston College and Notre Dame match, while No. 6 California (11-6, 8-4 ACC) will take on the winner of the Florida State versus Georgia Tech contest.
 
The four quarterfinal matches will begin at 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday, April 17,with the winners advancing to the semifinals on Saturday, April 18, at 2 p.m. ET. The semifinal match featuring the highest remaining seed will air on ACC Network Extra. Sunday’s championship match is set for 2 p.m. ET and will air live on ACC Network Extra.
 
One-day tickets are priced at $15 for adults (ages 18 and older) and $10 for children ages 17 and under and college students with a valid school ID. Admission is free for children 8 and under.

A full championship pass for all six days is priced at $30.
