CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Syracuse junior midfielder Luke Rhoa earned Atlantic Coast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week honors, and Notre Dame junior defenseman Nate Schwitzenberg claimed ACC Defensive Player of the Week for games played from April 6-12.
 
All five ACC teams are ranked in the latest USILA Coaches Poll, with Notre Dame taking over the No. 1 position this week. North Carolina is ranked No. 3, while Syracuse is No. 5, Virginia is No. 11 and Duke is No. 16.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF WEEK – Luke Rhoa, Jr., M, Syracuse (Potomac, Maryland)
• Racked up his fourth hat trick of the season and third in the last five games as he tagged No. 13 Virginia for three goals and one assist in the Orange’s 14-9 win.
• Tied a season high with four points.
• He was efficient, scoring his three goals on three shots on goal, taking seven total chances.
 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF WEEK – Nate Schwitzenberg, Jr., D, Notre Dame (Arlington Heights, Illinois)
• Key part of Notre Dame’s impressive defensive effort that held No. 1 North Carolina to a season-low five goals in a 10-5 win between the nation's top-two ranked teams.
• UNC was held 10 goals below its season scoring average.
• Held Tar Heel Dominic Pietramala, the ACC’s second-leading scorer, to just one goal, which came in an extra-man opportunity.
• Finished with a caused turnover and a ground ball in the victory.
