2026 ACC Women's Lacrosse Championship Begins Wednesday in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship will be played Wednesday, April 22, through Sunday, April 26, at American Legion Memorial Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 29th championship once again features some of the top teams in the nation, with all eight competing teams currently ranked in the IWLCA Top 20.

The semifinals will be held on Friday, April 24, and the championship game on Sunday. ACC Network will broadcast all seven games of the championship, which begins on Wednesday at 11 a.m. ET, with top-ranked and top-seeded North Carolina playing No. 8 seed Duke.

No. 4 seed Syracuse then matches up with No. 5 seed Virginia at 2 p.m. ET. No. 2 seed Stanford takes on No. 7 seed Boston College at 5 p.m. ET, while No. 3 seed Clemson faces No. 6 seed Notre Dame at 8 p.m. ET.

The semifinals are slated for 5 and 8 p.m. ET on Friday, and the championship game will be played at noon ET on Sunday, April 26.

The ACC champion has gone on to win the national championship 11 times, including the last two seasons with Boston College in 2024 and North Carolina in 2025.

Eight ACC women’s lacrosse teams are ranked among the top 25 teams in the latest IWLCA poll, the most among all conferences. Three ACC teams hold top 10 rankings, with North Carolina at No. 1, Syracuse at No. 6 and Clemson at No. 10. Also among the top 25: No. 11 Stanford, No. 12 Boston College, No. 16 Notre Dame, No. 19 Duke and No. 20 Virginia.

All-Session ticket books for the ACC Championships in both men’s and women’s lacrosse are available for $50 and can be purchased HERE. All-Session passes are good for all 10 games in the ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship as well as the ACC Men’s Lacrosse Championship, which will be played May 1 and 3 in Charlotte. 

Individual Session tickets for the ACC Championship are available online HERE. One ticket gains admission for all of the games on that respective day. Anyone 5 years and older requires a ticket for entry. All tickets are General Admission.

Noting the ACC Women's Lacrosse Championship
• This is the 29th edition of the ACC Women's Lacrosse Championship and the fourth straight in Charlotte, N.C. The first tournament was held in 1997. The event is scheduled to be held in Charlotte through 2028.
• Boston College (2023-24) and UNC (2016-19, 21-22, 2025) have combined to win the last nine ACC titles.
• The ACC champion has gone on to win the national championship on 11 occasions, including the last two seasons with Boston College (2024) and North Carolina (2025).

Noting ACC Women's Lacrosse
• The 2026 All-ACC Team was announced Tuesday. UNC led all schools with eight selections, including five first-teamers. (Release)
• The ACC's season awards will be announced next week following the conclusion of the ACC Championship.
• North Carolina sophomore attacker Chloe Humphrey notched ACC Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Boston College senior goalkeeper Shea Dolce and Notre Dame sophomore midfielder Lila O'Brien shared ACC Defensive Player of the Week laurels for games played from April 13-19.
• Nationally, Humphrey was named the IWLCA's Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
• Clemson currently shares the nation’s longest active win streak at 10 games with Delaware, Florida and Stony Brook.
• Eight ACC teams are in the top 30 of the NCAA’s latest RPI, with No. 3 North Carolina, No. 6 Syracuse, No. 11 Stanford, No. 15 Clemson and No. 18 Boston College among the top 20.
• In the D1 Selection Committee's Top 10 Reveal, unveiled on Thursday, April 16, North Carolina was No. 3 and Syracuse was No. 4.
• ACC teams finished 58-19 (.753) in non-conference play this season.
• 11 ACC players have been nominated for the 2026 Tewaaraton Award. That is the most of any conference.
• 16 ACC players were named 2026 Midseason All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse, most of any conference. Eight more were named honorable mention. North Carolina led all ACC programs with four midseason All-Americans.
• Five ACC players earned First-Team All-America honors on Inside Lacrosse's midseason team: UNC's Sam Forrest, Chloe Humphrey and Eliza Osburn, BC's Shea Beaker and Stanford's Kate Bellissimo.
• Now in its 30th season, ACC women's lacrosse expanded to 13 teams this year, as Florida State competed in its inaugural season.
• Sixteen current or former ACC players are part of the 22-woman roster for the 2026 U.S. World Lacrosse Championship Team. The championship will be contested July 24-August 2 in Tokyo. The team will be coached by current Boston College head coach Acacia Walker-Weinstein.
• North Carolina won its fourth national championship in program history in 2025, completing an undefeated season with a 12-8 victory over Northwestern in the title game. 
• Since the ACC began sponsoring women's lacrosse in 1997, ACC teams have won 14 NCAA titles, including four of the last five.
• With Boston College and North Carolina in 2025, the ACC had at least two teams competing in the NCAA's Championship Weekend for the 20th time in league history, including the seventh straight.
