ACC Reveals 2025-26 Women's Tennis Yearly Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) - The 2025-26 Atlantic Coast Conference women’s tennis awards were announced on Thursday, as North Carolina’s Reese Brantmeier and SMU’s Amelie Van Impe were voted the ACC Women’s Tennis Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, respectively, by the league’s 17 head coaches. NC State head coach Simon Earnshaw was voted the Coach of the Year.

The No. 2 nationally ranked singles player, Brantmeier, helped lead North Carolina to its fourth consecutive ACC Championship title match appearance. In the fall, Brantmeier won the 2025 NCAA Singles Championship, becoming just the second in program history to do so. She was named the ACC Player of the Week three times, ACC Doubles Team of the Week twice, alongside teammate Alanis Hamilton, and was ranked in the top three nationally for each ITA ranking released this season.

No. 21 Van Impe closed out the regular season with a singles record of 13-3 and doubles record of 15-2 with partner Caroline McGinley, as the No. 25 doubles team in the nation. Van Impe was named the ACC Freshman of the Week four times, the ACC Player of the Week two times and was a member of the ACC Doubles Team of the week twice. With eight ACC weekly awards on the season, Van Impe has the most of any ACC Women’s Tennis player this year.

Leading NC State to a 10-2 league record and its second ACC Championship title, Earnshaw was voted the ACC Coach of the Year. The honor is the second of his career, having also won the award in 2023 after leading the Wolfpack to its first ACC title in program history. NC State recorded three top-25 victories with wins over No. 6 North Carolina, No.7 Virginia and No. 21 California. At the 2026 ACC Women’s Tennis Championship, the Wolfpack secured the doubles point in all three of their matches and dropped just two singles contests throughout the tournament.
