UNC’s Humphrey Headlines 2026 ACC Women’s Lacrosse Season Awards

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference unveiled its 2026 ACC Women’s Lacrosse Season Awards, on Wednesday, April 29, following a vote of the league’s 13 head coaches.
 
Three of the award winners hail from ACC champion North Carolina: Chloe Humphrey (Attacker of the Year), Eliza Osburn (Midfielder of the Year) and Sam Forrest (Defender of the Year). Syracuse’s Daniella Guyette claimed Goalkeeper of the Year laurels, while Clemson’s Alexa Spallina was tabbed Freshman of the Year. Stanford’s Danielle Spencer was voted by her peers as the ACC Coach of the Year.
 
Humphrey leads the nation in goals (92) and points (133) this season. A 2026 Tewaaraton Award nominee after winning the 2025 Tewaaraton Award as a freshman last year, she was a First-Team All-ACC selection for the second straight season and was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week six times this season. Her 41 assists are tied for 19th nationally, while she also owns 20 caused turnovers, which is tied for the team lead.
 
Osburn earned ACC season honors for the second straight season after notching Freshman of the Year honors in 2025. A First-Team All-ACC honoree, she has scored 29 goals and assisted on 17 more this season. A 2026 Tewaaraton nominee, she also has totaled 21 groundballs, 34 draw controls and 13 caused turnovers.
 
Forrest spearheads one of the nation’s top defenses, which currently leads the ACC and ranks fifth nationally in allowing just 7.5 goals per game. The senior defender earned First-Team All-ACC honors for the second straight season.
 
Guyette ranks second in the ACC and seventh nationally with a 7.81 goals-against average. The senior is a 2026 Tewaaraton nominee who also ranks second in the ACC in save percentage (.461) and has totaled 118 saves, 38 groundballs and eight caused turnovers.
 
Spallina leads the ACC and ranks second nationally in assists with 67 and is second in the ACC and fourth in the nation with 104 points. She tops the ACC and is third nationally in assists per game (3.61) and is second in the ACC and seventh in the country in points per game (5.61). She was one of just two freshmen to earn First-Team All-ACC honors this season. Her brother Joey, a senior attackman at Syracuse, was named the ACC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year on Tuesday.
 
Spencer earned her first ACC Coach of the Year distinction in Stanford’s second year as an ACC member. The seventh-year head coach has led the Cardinal to a 15-4 record, including an 8-2 mark and second-place finish in the ACC regular season, and guided the team to the title game of the 2026 ACC Women’s Lacrosse Championship. Stanford ranks No. 6 in the latest IWLCA.
 
The 2026 All-ACC Team was announced on April 21.
 
The 29-team field for the NCAA Tournament will be announced on Sunday, May 3, at 9 p.m. ET on ESPNU. The championship gets underway with 13 games at host sites on Friday, May 8.
